Happy birthday, Lynn!!!!
How are you feeling? We may be in Lancaster (Neffsville) on Tuesday, so let me know if you need anything!!!
Where is your favorite drive in Lancaster? I've always dreaded Sunday drives in that area because of all the buggies on the road. They're fun to see, but so scary with cars all around.

OK this is the best drive in Lanc Count- and you do see buggies, but just pass carefully and give te horses lots of room. They wear blinders and can't always hear you coming.
Come up to Lititz and turn right on Main St, which is pa 772.
follow 772 to Rothsville and keep going. After you go under the 222 overpass at Brownstown, the landscape opens up somewhat to farmland.
Continue on to Leola. There is a little jog in the road at the Giant shopping center - this is where I like to show visitors the Amish parking.
Once thru Leola, you get into beautiful farmland and a lot of craft and quilt places. These are closed on Sundays. You may know that one way to spot an Amish home is by the dark green window shades. 772 makes a sharp turn to the right, and then to the left, between Leola and Intercourse. After the left turn, you will see a typical Amish school on your left.
Intercourse comes up next. If you go on a Saturday it may be quite busy, but the shops there are fun, even if touristy. My friends who do quilting say that the fabric store there has the best prices.
Continue on 772. If the road is open, it is 5 miles to US 30, through the Pequa Valley area. This is simply beautiful. Recently there has been a detour in that area which puts you on route 340, known as Old Philadelphia Pike. This is equally beautiful and you can follow the detour all the way to 30. You come out close to Gap.
772 is my favorite country road to bypass the outlets and traffic on 30 when headed east or down toward DE. I Greatly prefer buggy traffic to the commotion on 30!
I have another favorite, but have to double check the names of roads before posting it!

Good Morning Trish & PA:
Yesterday did not shape up to what I'd planned. Started out to Barix late, flat tire, waited almost 2 hrs for AAA to show up and change my tire. I'd have done it myself but couldn't budge the nuts with the tire iron. After tire was changed a trip to the tire store became the focus for my day.
Gene is working on his syllibus again this morning. Yesterday afternoon I organized and put his 3 ring binder of information together so he didn't have to deal with that. I enjoyed reading all the family systems information, articles, and class projects as I was putting the book together
Not sure what will happen today. As I mentioned Gene is working on his syllibus, not sure if we'll make it to church, I do have some minor grocery shopping to do today. Gene's mom is still recovering from shoulder replacement surgery, we should plan a trip to visit her today. I've also found out I'll need a new laptop for my classes this fall. My current laptop will not support much of the technology I'll be needing for my class so we did a little research last night and with Gene's faculity discount looks like I'll be upgrading to a Dell once we order it online. Yeah for faculty discounts!!!
I hope everyone has a better handle on their day than I do at this point. I'm heading downstairs for a walk on the treadmill.
Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ida,
So sorry you missed Barix yesterday. I will get to meet you soon. I would find Gene's family systems stuff fascinating. When I got my MSW, I was fascinated by all that stuff.
Hugs,
Trish
