It's the only way I could figure out to hug you!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

 Good morning all,

Steffi, good luck with your surgery, I am sure it will go great!!

I have been hanging in there.  Still having issues from car accident 2 months ago.  Finally went for an MRI and I have multiple bulging and herniated discs in my neck.  I see Dr on Thursday to see what next step is.  Physical therapy just doesn't seem to be helping.  It is agonizing at times.

I am hoping to get back to work on Aug 10th pain or not.  I need to get back to work.  It has been a long 6 weeks at home.

Hello PA!

We are home from our quick trip out to Michigan - so glad we were able to see the kids and have some family time. The drive gave Mike and me some time together which we needed too.

Wrapping up some work projects today and tomorrow, hoping to be mentally "with it" by next Monday to kick back in. My knee surgery is Wednesday and right now my attitude is "get it over with."

I also want to get to the gym today and jump in the pool. Won't be there for a while post surgery either.

Not all that exciting, I know, but hope you all have a stupendous day!

Lynn,

Not exercising post-op is sooo hard to get used to mentally!!!  I'm dealing with that.  I'm used to getting on the treadmill first thing every morning, so this is an adjustment.  I'm allowed to go out for short, leisurely walks, so that helps my brain a bit.

Good luck with your surgery!!!!

Hey Pam glad you got some good sleep it is so important.

We got back from NC last night and boy were we tired. Graduation was good and sad at the same time. My sisters husband and her ex husband got into an altercation in the parking lot in front of my niece. She was crying and upset., I just don't understand why people cannot keep them selves in line for something as short and as important as a graduation ceremony. Needless to say friday was awful but we did have a good time after that. Jason and I had some good time together and with friends.

Today I am barely functioning so tired :) But I am. I am at work for 12 hr day and then home to collapse. I hope you all have a a good Monday. Good luck to Steffi you will be fine. I am excited for you. So what did I miss over the weekend?

Good morning all - back at work today - still FREEZING in our offices - something is wrong with the units on the roof and they're afraid to shut them down so until they can come up with a 'fix' for them we're stuck with frigid temps in here. Honestly at this point I would take HOT over COLD.

I had a great weekend - my sister and b-i-l arrived safely Friday night from Florida and I picked them and one of my bff's up at the airport - my nephew and his gf came over and we just sat and ate and talked and hung out. Saturday we headed to Yardley to our friends house for his birthday and hung out in their pool all day - very relaxing, but a very long day as we didn't get home til almost midnight. Yesterday was quiet - took my family back to the airport and they got home last night.

I'm very, very concerned about my sister, tho - knowing what my highest weight was I'm sure she's close to that or more (closing in on 400 lbs) - we carried our weight differently - my chest was huge and pressing down on me causing my breathing to be really bad - her shape is more pear - she carries hers thru the middle, but now her legs are becoming very large and they never were before. She showed up wearing an ortho boot and sporting a cane due to a bone spur/achilles tendon problem in her right foot, and now she needs a hip replacement on that side and if she's not careful she'll have to have her knee replaced as well. She shows no signs of dieting and told my brother the other week that she just can't do what I did - she might consider lapband but honestly if her heart isn't in it we all know it's a futile gesture. I'm just really worried about her overall health now.

I've been trying to think of ways to get her into a conversation about WLS and I think I found it - there are two Centers of Excellence in her town of Port Orange, FL - at the last support mtg I went to at Brinton Lake the leader said whenever you travel you should know where these places are in case of emergency, so we looked Florida up and there are two in that town - so maybe I'll bring it up by saying that I'm glad they have them in Port Orange so when I come to visit I know there's a place I can go in case of emergency. We'll see how that goes.

Well, that's my story from the weekend - back at work today and tomorrow - off Wednesday - hubby is having his first cataract surgery and he's really anxious for it to be done now.

Hope everyone has a great day...Kathy
