stall already??
I'm only 5 weeks out and have been in a stall for the past two weeks. I have been following the rules... eating every 2 hours, no more than 1/2 a cup, no drinking during or 30 minutesafter, exercising daily (walking 30 minutes with only a few days skipped), eating according to the diet, etc. I know in my head that stalling happens I just didn't think it would happen so soon! My mind says its OK but my frustration level is going up!
I haven't taken measurements yet. I guess I should get on that Words of wisdom from anyone?
Kristine
Kristine do not despair. This is why these boards are so important and why us Old Timers hang around. You are fine. We all hit the dreaded 3 week stall. Your body is in crisis and it is adjusting to what you have done to it. Just keep following the rules and it will start to go down again. Measuring yourself is vital to staying sane when the scale does not budge. My advice is remember that there are many ways to measure your success and the scale is the LEAST accurate.
Kristine, Nicole is right. Let your body get through this healing stage - weight loss right now is a bonus. Then you will get into gear.
However, a word to the wise....this isn't an overnight thing. I know the feeling of thinking, "I had surgery! Shouldn't I wake up thinner?" The truth is, it's a long journey with times of great progress, times of stalling, and times of setbacks. I swear that part of the process is designed to teach us patience!

I stalled at 3 weeks.. But the words people gave me were "u didnt put it on in 3 weeks so b patient and just keep up the good work...." U will do great and just keep it up.. I have found I have been losing at least 3lbs a week.. And we had surgery on the same day.. Just keep do what ya do and u will b fine...
The scale WILL move again, so don't fret!!! Stick to the rules, and you'll start seeing results again. I stalled a bunch of times, but I knew it was going to happen, so I didn't worry about it. Your body is just trying to get used to the changes it's going through and your new way of eating. Hang out here on the board, and know that the scale will start moving again.

Don't feel bad I stalled at 3 weeks and then 8 weeks and then 12 weeks etc... I am the stall queen! I have been in a 3 month stall now... It gets super frustrating... but hang in there.. they do break... before I had Annabelle I could use by body measurements but since having her she changed my shape and now can't use them... but hang in there...
Yes, you are normal. Don't worry - be patient and DO YOUR MEASUREMENTS once a month!
Keep drinking, keep moving, and keep following the plan. Trust your body, trust your surgeon, and things will be ok. Don't be defined by a number on a scale.
Take the time to make some mental adjustments. This is a journey of a lifetime, not a sprint. Things will happen as they happen and as your body needs them to happen - everyone's experience and pace are a little different. This is NOT a diet to be followed. Your insides have been surgically modified and you now have different nutritional needs - what you eat is now your "medicine" and your "lifeline." Not a diet. Diets can be broken and failed at... this is your lifestyle, redefined. Failure is simply not an option.
Trust, patience, and planning.
Hugs,
Karen

I can just echo what has already been said - the body changes when the scale doesn't, it is like it takes time to recalibrate itself, catch up and shift around based on what is lost, right itself and then it continues to lose. Look how well you are doing already!! in a few days chck that pair of pants that didn't fit 3 weeks ago and poof - they fit.
Hang in there!

This was one of the big reasons I never weighed myself at home until I was 6 months out - I only got weighed at the doctor's office when I went. I knew my body was changing but I also knew how horrible the scale had always made my life, and from being on here, going to support mtgs and talking to 'old-timers' I knew stalls would happen - but for me I didn't need to see them up front.
Are you weighing yourself every day? STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE - you had the surgery - you're working your tool - you had an excellent surgeon and the weight will come off, but you will endure endless torture if you step on that thing every day expecting to see big losses every time you do.
You're going to be fine - take your measurements (something I didn't do and regret now) - and take photos - and trust me, even if the scale doesn't say you're losing your clothing will tell you differently!
