Sweating Sunday Roll Call
Good morning PA! Amazed at those of you who wrap your day into the wee hours....
Another quiet-ish day here. Church, then coming home to work on a few crafty type projects (I am actually making some Christmas presents this year and have to keep my focus), and then making dinner. We are having one of Mike's work associates over tonight. He is a single guy and they have been putting in atrocious hours for various inspections/audits/etc. We're having chicken kabobs on the grill, grilled pineapple, cabbage slaw (made with Splenda of course), corn, and maybe some homemade strawberry ice cream for dessert.
Yesterday's visit with Lorraine and Ray was incredibly fun! They are the couple who was down to PA from Ottawa, Ontario. Her surgery was about 2 years ago, and she has had some plastics done. We had some insightful discussion about US vs. Canadian health care (Lorraine drives 3 hrs. to Watertown NY for diabetes medications not available in Canada, and had her RNY in Utica NY. We talked about my knee injury - wait list for an MRI in Canada is a year!!!! They said docs are so underpaid that they get about 5 yrs. of experience and move south, so there is a real shortage of doctors...we'll see what Obamacare brings to the US I guess. But I digress). We also talked about plastics, exercise, work, and some of the "intangibles" of weight loss.
Anyway, wishing all of you a calm and collected Sunday, since it's not going to be very cool!
Keep cool and drink lots!

Good morning, PA!!
Bob and I had a wonderful time last night visiting with Lisa! The girl can sing! The Weaverville Inn is a great place, very pretty and the food was awesome. Great place for one of my last meals before the pre-op diet starts tomorrow. Two weeks to go!
After dinner we came home and watched the end of the Phillies game that we recorded while we were out, they are finally swinging those bats! 10-2 over the Rockies!
Today is church in the morning, then probably a trip to BJ's, and more baseball of course.
Everyone please keep your fingers crossed, our Realtor is showing my mother's house for the second time to a couple who seem interested, we are hoping it sells soon.
Have a great day, everyone!!

Good morning, PA!!!
Not much going on here. Paul was awake most of the night, apparently. I woke up when he came to bed around 5:30. Made a cup of tea and read for a while. Love these quiet mornings!
We were to get Anson tonight for a week's visitation, but his mom asked if we could switch a week or so with her. Because of my upcoming surgery this week, Paul arranged it so we get him in the middle of August instead. Works out for the best---we don't have a 3 hour drive (round trip) to get him tonight, and we don't have to worry about keeping him entertained while I recoop. (Not like we have to entertain him much---he has video games that he plays online with his friends.)
Have a great day, all!!!

Hi Bill,
This is the first time I have noticed you post. I know the liquids are hard, but they are worth it. Hang in there. Your surgery date is just around the corner.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
