I saw this and thought that this was a good read for us gals... and gals that have daughters... I am completely floored like this model... and I am glad she is saying something... I loved it when Jamie Lee Curtis showed her before and after shots and how Photoshop has changed the worlds view on things...

In this case my size 12 must be considered a Plus?

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed (to say the least) that a size 10 is considered PLUS SIZE? Seriously - have they ever looked at a REAL woman? One with boobs, butt and curves? Personally I think these fashion designers should just hang their clothes on hangers and parade them around because those girls don't have any more meat on their bones than a hanger.

The other thing that really discourages me about these photo-shopped pictures is that I have a daughter who is beautiful but has very low self-esteem, and she constantly compares herself to the starletts and models in fashion magazines, and has now worked herself down to a size 6 (she tells me, and if she's telling me 6 I know she's down to a 2) - and the same size as her 17 year old daughter now - but its not a size she'll ever be able to maintain. And I have 3 very impressionable granddaughters who also compare themselves constantly to these skinny models.

well that is why i am so happy that she spoke out about this... this affects/effects everyone in a certain way... from the guys that date girls, to reporters, to the girls themselves...

I think that the fashion world themselves need to stop using women that are build like little boys... come on that what they look like... no hips, no boobs to me = boys... and this is part of the reason why I never went to Cooper Union like I wanted to in NYC to study fashion... not going to work with little boys as models...

It's terrible I plan to surround my daughter with amazing women. This is just BS that people see a size 10 as a plus size.

in the article she was orginally a size 12 after she got over her eating issues... a size 12 is plus size... that is what it is in all stores and such...

I read this in People magazine the other day and was pissed. I too am 5'9 and I weigh 146 so we are pretty much the same, that means I am a plus size??? I wear a size 6 so I'm not sure how she fits in a 10 but that made me upset. Am I still considered big????
5'9 and a size 6...I love my tool.
