Three Years!
Laura - Congrats on not only being in an amazing place three years out - but also for realizing and SHARING the difficulties that come along with our choice to live a better life! On the day you had your life changing surgery - my life changed as well. My mother lost her battle with Cancer - Soft Tissue Sarcoma. July 10, 2007 will always be a day in which I will think of her in all ways possible. Knowing that you started your new life the day hers ended actually helps me move forward. It proves to me that life does go on, and we can choose to live a long and healthy life. She didn't choose cancer, but she chose to fight it for four years and live her life with zest and ***** It sounds to me like there is some of that in you! Thanks for making this day better for me without even knowing!
Laura,
Happy surgiversary!!! Loved reading your post---thanks for sharing your journey with us!!! My boyfriend and I loved the bit about telling people to shove off if they think you took the easy way out!!! That's what we want to tell people too!!!! (I soooo wanted to say that to the 'friend' that said to me last summer "well, that's not the right way to do it, but whatever!")
Congrats again on your 3 years and on your beautiful baby girl!!!
And I gotta say that you look fabulous!!!!
