Wonderful WOWS from Cape May
Hello to all my PA peeps,
Just had to share with you some of the great moments I have experienced this past week. Every year I volunteer at a retreat house for nuns in Cape May, NJ. Some of these women have known me since I was in college. Many have not seen me since last August or before. They were so proud of my weight loss and the positive steps I have taken in my life. At times I felt like the prize horse as they showed me off to people I did not know. They were so sweet and I just felt great. I even went on to the beach for the first time in 20+ years and wore a bathing suit
I am just so grateful for the gift of this surgery and all of the support that I have received (and given) this past year. I was very honest with people and told them about the RNY. I kept emphasizing that my successing would not have been possible without the support groups both online and at Barix. Life is so good right now that it is almost scary. I actually like the body I see in the mirror. That has NEVER happened in my life - even when I was younger and skinny. Now I see how much energy I used every day by hating the body I inhabited.
So that's my super WOW moments from the Jersey shore. I feel so much younger and really happy. I know that all of you guys could really appreciate this. Take care.
Love, Donna
