Thanks Lisa.  The encouraging words I am getting in response are what will motivate me to get up tomorrow and do it again.  Just not the walking part.  I will work on the toning part tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Cyd

Hi there,
I went to the gym and did 15 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of water walking.  That was the first time I had been on the elliptical in ages.  I loved it, and would have stayed on longer, but my hip started to bother me.  That was when I did the water walking.

Slowly, I am increasing my cardio.

Hugs,
Trish

I saw your follow up post on FB - AWESOME work there Trish!  Congrats on being a good girl, even not allowing your missing ear buds to derail you.  Glad you liked the elliptical!

I love the elliptical.  I have always dreamed of owning my own home, and having an exercise room with an elliptical, a bike, and a tv in it.  I used to have a bike, and would ride it after work.  I gave it to my sister when I moved.  She just had lap band surgery, and really should get that thing out of her garage, and into her living room.  Oh, my dream house would also have an indoor pool, as that is my first love.

Thanks for the encouragement.  I am so grateful I went.  Oh, and the elliptical I was on had my own personal fan on it.  Love it.

Trish

Trish,

Good for you!!!  The elliptical doesn't really do it for me as much as the treadmill, but it's an excellent workout.  And the water walking is great!  (no impact, easy on the joints, but great resistance and cardio)

I moved!

I went to the gym today, and met a gf from work there (we had kind of pre planned it)  It was weird...as soon as she said she was coming I began to get "nervous".  I was doing my spin class that she wanted to take w/ me (she does spin often, too, but I've raved about this instructor so much, she wanted to come to this one...)  It's just stupid head games.  What if I couldn't keep up?  What if I looked like an idiot in front of her?  What if she was "better" than me?

Met her there...we were early (she just from working, me because I had plans before the class began)  Did 10 mins on the treadmill to warm up, did BOTH ab routines I have.

Then we met for class (she did other warm up stuff) and it was AWESOME. My fav instructor Jamie was there.....there was a wow moment involved that I will post separately.

By the time we left, we were both a ridiculous shade of red, drenched in sweat, and feeling QUITE good.  But, I'm with ya karen...let's see how tonight feels lol

Boy, Pam - I know what you mean about it getting weird when someone else comes along!  I had the same feeling when my nephew was in town (omg - i'm going to look like an idiot while he does all these wonderful things) and whenever I've taken a new class.  Got to get OVER that... my head plays all those silly games trying to tell me that I don't "belong" there or that "everyone" will laugh or whatever.  So you're NOT the only one by a long shot!

Sounds like you had a great workout!  (both of you!)

Thanks Karen!  Yup - all those thoughts are the same ones I have...ridiculous head games, because we know darn well "everyone" won't laugh...and "everyone" would probably be MORE than willing to help....we'll get there

I went to the park at 6:30 to walk/run about 2.5 miles.  Then I went to PT and found out about the tear in the cartilage in my hip.  Since then, I have managed to lay on the sofa and think about eating a gallon on ice cream.  Sad really.

So sorry... but you MOVED and that's great!  And if you aren't allowed to walk/run for a while due to the cartilage, ask abou****er exercises and upper body stuff (that DOESN'T involve lifting a spoon).. you can still stay active and "on plan" even with a body part out of action for a while.  Don't give in!!!  You can do it!!!
