A Weird WOW...

I saw an aquaintence that I grew up with and she thought that I was a customer in her store. I turned around and told her who I was and her jaw dropped because she could not recognize me. I should say that she called me chubby because that was what everybody called me growing up. I turned around and told her I am not chubby and in the future don't call anybody that and walked out of her store. Suffice to say I will not be patronizing her store. It was a left handed compliment but I will take it. I feel better for telling her off and feeling confident enough to tell her off.

Good for you for standing up to her!!!!!  I know that took a lot of strength for you to do that and I am so proud of you for it!

Remember how great you felt leaving her store and put it to use in other areas of your life when toxic people are involved.

Thanks Lisa! You are so good for my ego. I really felt good that her jaw dropped then she had to make a fat comment. Inside me is still a fat girl and I might have been fat but I lost the weight she might have been skinny all her life but she is an ugly person inside.

Really?!  Freaking really?  People are just crazy, absolutely crazy.  And she probably didn't even realize she said it or, more importantly WHY she shouldn't have said it.  sigh.

Good for you for standing up for yourself, for telling her NOT to say that to anyone, and to have the willpower and confidence to do so!

Thanks Pam. I just was feeling so good that she did not recognize me and then she makes the fat comment. I really think she did not even realize that she said it either but it came naturally to her since everybody called me that. Actually the word she used was FATSO which is even more uglier. My sub-committes are acting up again and I really wanted to eat everything in site but I am being good and will not stuff my feelings with food!

That is BEYOND an ugly word....

GREAT job on being good....don't give her the satisfaction of allowing your subcommittees to take over!  Her and her words are DEFINATELY not worth it!

I think you should tell us ALL where the store is and who the person is - we can all go in there - bring our before pictures - and NOT buy anything......just a thought!  So proud of you for opening your mouth!  WAHOO!!!!!!!

WOW, what a strong thing you did! I wish I could see some of the kids I grew up with who outcast me because of my weight. Boy, would I give them a piece of my mind!!
