**Kicking A$$ and taking names Thursday Workout**
Jimminy Christmas.....what a week!
Went to the gym a good 35 mins before my appointment and did a big "warm up" which was 30 mins on the treadmill....at a minimum of 3.0 mph, but MOST of it was 3.5 and/or JOGGING at 4.0mph I actually jogged for 5 mins straight...NOT something I normally do. I guess the spin class is really improving my cardio.
Then I met with the trainer for 30 mins of INTENSE weight training...mostly upper boday, which was just fine cause my legs are pretty sore (and I told him so and WHY they were like that...he was pretty impressed) That ended up being a cardio work out as well as he had me moving from one thing to the next in fairly quick sucession....so a mild cardio work out there, too.
And, to top it off...I very well may go to the shore tonight and possibly out dancing....
My trainer said to me (when I was struggling) at one point "this is a walk in the park, you can soooo do this!" To which I very quickly quipped back "well your walks SUCK sometimes!" lol

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
Sounds like a fun day at the gym, Pam, and your activity level has been great!!! Way to go!
I did not get to the gym this morning. The calves are in MAJOR complaint mode - i'm like an 85 year old walking up and down the stairs! I actually wore heels to work this morning for the sole reason that they would "relax" my calves. Haha. But it's true. I'm looking forward to running tomorrow in the bare foots but couldn't stand the thought of it today... really have to work up to it!
When I get home tonight I plan to do arm weights and possibly do a nice SLOW long walk with some stops for extra stretches to warm up the calves.
There's science behind "bare foot" shoes for running and weight work that is pretty interesting. And a lot of folks are starting to take note... here's a good article with a pic of the same ones that I have:

And another article from Harvard Science about barefoot running and how it can help avoid injury and pain:

It took me quite some time to kick my own butt into gear...but I've gained, my clothes don't fit, I'm generally less happy...and after sitting there and thinking about it I finally decided that this is NOT what I chose to do three years ago...I did NOT risk my life on a surgical table to just succumb into old habits. It took a lot of tears, a lot of thinking, and a lot of throwing clothes that were to snug across the room for me to get to that point again, though.

Rock it Pam!! You are doing great with your dedication to the gym!!! So proud!!
Last night I went to yoga as I said in my roll call post. I am still feeling pretty relaxed from it, well I was even more so before I dumped today. But, the feeling is still within me.
ETA: change of plans.. no Zumba today. Siehara is going to her friend's house and they need me to pick her up at 6... that is smack dab in the middle of zumba. I tried to get her to drop her off at the gym, but she can't do it.
I WILL get there in time for pilates, though.
