WEDNESDAY WORKOUT WARRIORS
So....it would have been sooo easy to say "I don't have time to go to the gym today" because I *normally* do the 8:15am or the 9:15 spin class. But we are aiming to be on the road smack dab in the middle of it, and we're getting home to late to go to the evening ones.
BUUUUUT, instead.....I got my A$$ up at 4:15...got to the gym by five after five...did my full body "push" weight work out (well, what I have of it) The trainer I'm seeing is putting me on a totally different weight work out than what I"m used to..and it's kinda cool. I'm soooo used to focusing on one body part (upper body one day, lower body the next etc) Instead, he has me doing a "push and pull" split. Both are full body workouts...but one day you are working muscles by PUSHING your muscles away (IE leg extensions, tricep extensions) and the next day you PULL your muscles towards you (IE bicep curls, hip adductions etc) My "push" routine is not complete yet, we ran out of time....but I did what we did the other day.
Then I took the 5:45 spin class. First time with a male instructor ever. It was interesting. Definately NOT for beginners...because...well...he's a man and doesn't talk much. I would have been totally lost had it been my first class. Oh - and there were a TON of guys in the class...all very well in the physique department..and most of which in spandex. Not bad motivation, lol
And then, after spin I did my weighted ball crunches which I'm slooooowly learning to *like* I HATE abs...hate hate hate...but it's getting tolerable. I'm assuming the trainer will now change that.....lol
Ok...I'll shut up now....Just be glad you're not Brian as I wake him up chattering all morning long

Haha - love the last comment. i do find myself much more "chattery" after a good workout!
KUDOs to you for getting your butt out of bed and to the gym so early. NO EXCUSES, indeed! The push and pull approach sounds interesting, and a little eye candy in a spin class would be nice!
I, too, got my butt to the gym this morning for a weight circuit, stretching, some medicine ball work, and a good treadmill warmup. My calves are SOOOOO tight from yesterday's "bare foot" run - had to stretch them extra last night before bed and they felt so good this morning. Definitely and very obviously worked well on them. Butt muscles, too...although not as noticeable as the calves yet. So I'll definitely be doing another half-mile or so in them tomorrow. They do look goofy, but you can't quibble with results!

going to the gym tonight after Siehara's appointment. I realized that there is a 7:30 yoga class in Bethlehem and a 7:30 Body Pump class in Whitehall. Now, I just need to figure out which one I am going to do. I really like yoga and miss it now that they took it out of the Whitehall Gold's, so I'm thinking I'll end up there.
If I go to yoga, I will do some strength training first. If I go to Body Pump, I will do some cardio first.

WOW Pam, good job getting up and out to the gym and sounds like you had a great workout!
I just got back from a 3 mile run. (39:34)
On Saturday I'm running a 5K for pancreatic cancer in Newtown PA and the following weekend, (11th) is my first duathelon. OMG I'm getting nervous.
