Tuesday Exercise Tumult

Really?  I'm the first one posting the exercise thread??? Where is everyone?  Too hot for ya?

I got my butt to the (air-conditioned) gym this morning for a nice run, followed by a bit of weights and some good stretching.

I'm trying out my new "Bare Foot" running shoes.  They literally are like running in bare feet - change your gait completely and work a lot more on the calves and hamstring/thighs, so they tell you to work up to running in them for distances.  However, they're designed to work a lot more on balance and hips/back health and posture and such.  I did a half mile in them today before changing into my regular shoes.  I'll probably do a half-mile in them a few more days before working up to a full mile in them.  They felt good/odd but BOY did my calves feel it afterward!!!

What are you doing to move today?

I did my hour on the Elliptical and sit here in my new air conditioned office. The view is so breath taking from the second floor. Oh here is the best part the new office has a wait for it. A GYM!! So I will be working out after work as well. Yahoo!!

Hey Karen.. those shoes sound interesting.  Since I am not enjoying running, I won't need them.  I have been thinking about getting those sketcher's shoes that are supposed to tone your legs when you walk.  Someone told me they got a pair at Payless.  My calves are pretty good right now, but more toning is always good.


Anyway.. exercise.  If it is warm enough later, I will go to the pool to swim laps.  I don't like getting OUT of the pool if it is a little too cool or if there is a cool wind blowing.  If I don't go to the pool, I will go over to the gym and do either bike or treadmill and some shoulder and chest work.  They seem to be my weakest areas.

I didn't go to the gym..  after the appt with the nut, we went to dinner at the diner and then went to Good Will to find stuff for camp. 

Got a comforter and a duffle bag for Siehara for camp.  I also got an end table for my living room, 4 pics for my living room wall and a bathing suit for me, 2 pairs of shorts and a skirt for Siehara.... grand total $50---the comforter alone probably cost more than 1/2 of that in a regular store.

I work out with a trainer for 1 hour at work today.  I have a left elbow tendon thing going on right now, so no arm work this week.  I have the Reebok easy tone shoes, they are so comfortable and do tone...at least I feel and see a difference.
