Ok, sweating because it's ten million degrees out does NOT count.

I went to spin class...today was my second fav instructor and lemme tell you - she was on her GAME today - BIG time.  I want to bottle just () this much of her enthusiasm and energy and I'd be set.

It was a slightly different class....we did a lot of heavy pedaling (meaning heavy resistence) AND cardio combined. My legs are already feeling it.

Did 3 sets of ab crunches on the ball with added weight...it's a weird type of crunch a trainer taught me

Did 3 sets of my five push ups and felt very wimpy next to the cylons that were disguised as humans doing their crunches etc.

You go girl!

I am headed to the gym tonight for Zumba and pilates.. I still have no coordination, but there is a girl in the class who I have done other classes with and she's a lot of fun.  Plus, the girl I went to Body Pump with is going to come to my Gold's tonight for these classes so we can laugh at ourselves together.

I had to come into work early today so no formal exercise for me today but I will be moving a lot this weekend with my cousin's 3 day wedding.

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

Today will be one hour of strength training, followed by one hour of Zumba. On a beastly hot day like today, I'm thankful that the weather is always good in the gym!!!

I went for an early walk on the beach this morning---and it was already nasty hot out there. I walked a total of about 28 blocks, mostly in the water so it would be bearable. (Yeah, I'm not feeling any sympathy here since I'm at the beach...)

Hi Pam,
I would go to the pool and water walk, but I pulled a muscle on top of my thigh.  Getting out of a chair and walking stairs are brutal.

Am I doing the right thing to care for it?  I am putting ice, and resting as much as possible.  I also took my muscle relaxer and my tramadol.  Should I do anything else?

Hugs,
Trish

Sorry to hear about your leg Trish.

Yes, it sounds like you are doing everything right.  Ice for the first 48-72 hours...20 mins on, 20 mins off.  The muscle relaxer is a good idea as well.  Definately rest it :)

I will be movin & groovin with my trainer at work this afternoon.   Cardio warmup then 40 minutes of strength training then stationary biking to cool down.  She plays women's full-contact football for the harrisburg team, so I do what she tells me to do :)  I am even getting some muscle tone now:)  Tonight...probably a walk with my best friend again.  i gotta get those last few pounds off before my next appt in July...it is a personal quest.

I absolutely LOVE spinning!

Good luck with the training for the 10k.  I don't even have the discipline in me to properly train for a 5k, so my hat off to you and anyone else who runs!  I'm SURE you'll rock it out in the fall, no questions asked!
