***Spectacular Saturday Roll Call****

Ooops, meant to post about today! I keep waking up at the literal crack of dawn since my surgery in April - but I kind of like the extra energy I seem to have the beginning of the day - I am video taping a long skit today for my church - we are saying goodbye to a long time pastor this coming Sunday and I've got some drama in my background (lol) and they asked me to write the script and take over the project! It is pretty funny - but I'll be doing that for several hours, then home to feed all the animals, weed flower beds, and then ride my horse during dusk when the sun isn't so hot.

Just a quick run through this morning, as I have lots to do before my guests arrive this afternoon, a couple of co-workers and their significant others. . .  really looking forward to seeing them.  
Well I better get moving, lots to do and need to take my Roxster to the dog park in between everything else. . .

Hi Pammy and all of PA - I am sorry that others didn't do their job which made yours even more difficult.  Slackers! 

I am sitting in bed at camp and am about to go get my day started.  Already - in just one night I have had sooooo many wows.  I will write them in a seperate post.  I can't believe how much fun this is going to be.  I will mention here that I do feel old.  It is funny, I love being here - but it feels weird without my family, and really weird without throngs of kids running around.  I have NO idea what the day will hold for me.  There is a schedule but I have not seen it yet, and I love not being in charge.  So, whatever happens, I do hope there is swimming time at some point.  Bagels for breakfast, it is a Jewish camp after all - and it is Shabbat :) - pretty sure I will be bringing my oatmeal to have instead.  Don't want to start the summer with a dumping episode.

Can't wait for the post on your WOWs, Steffi!!!  Yeah, I'm giving the spotlight back to you now!!!    We're going to a graduation party this afternoon, and only a couple of the people know about my surgery.  The others haven't seen me, so this could be a fun day.

Smart move on the oatmeal thing....bagel foamies would NOT be a wow on the first full day of camp!

Good morning, Pam and PA!!!

We have a busy day today.  We need to finish packing (most of it is done) and take care of chores like put the trash out.  We're heading to DE for a graduation party this afternoon.  (What is an appropriate gift for a young man graduating from high shool?  Would appreciate any suggestions!!!!)  Tomorrow morning we get Anson for 3 weeks, so we'll pack up and head to the shore.  We'll come back mid-week for my 1 year follow-up with Dr. P, then head back to Ocean City.

I decided yesterday that I'm going to tell my mom to not come when I have my surgery next month.  She was pretty ugly the other day, and apparently told her husband that I told her off.  She was totally disrespectful of my wishes and of Paul and Anson.  I don't want/need drama while trying to heal, so she can just stay home.

Off to get my walk in!!

Stay strong with your mom.  That's the EXACT reason most of my extended family didn't (and still doesn't) know about my WLS...because they would be very disrespectful and negative and I didn't want that.  It can be difficult setting those boundaries, but they are definately needed.

Sorry that you need to oust mom, but I can certainly understand - I didn't even tell my mom about my surgery until 2 weeks after I had it due to the undue drama that would have stressed me out.  If you need help during the healing process, you know the crew to reach out to!

Thanks, ladies!!!  I know folks on here totally get the mom issues!!  Mom is an awesome nurse, but right now I can't deal with her attitude.  There's ALWAYS something wrong with my appearance---jewelry, lack of makeup, the wrong clothes, whatever.  She got me with some of that the other day, then started on the surgery stuff.  She said Paul can't take care of me after surgery and that he and his son shouldn't even be here during that time.  Excuse me???  Paul took wonderful care of me after my wls last year!!!  Don't need the drama at that point.  And Mom has had some health issues lately, in addition to having COPD, so I could end up taking care of her instead.  lol
