If so, why?   What made you go to a gastro vs. back to your bariatric surgeon for a suspected ulcer or adhesions or bloating or acid reflux???   Trying to figure out the sequence of doing so.   Don't want to blow my insurance coverage by seeing the wrong one first.   Would appreciate any input anyone has.  My insurance is Aetna.

My bariatric surgeon is a gastro-guy, so I didn't have any problems.  But then I pay him myself, and not the insurance co., because he's out of this network.

The bariatric surgeon would be right on the top of my list for any of the problems you mentioned.

Good luck!

Dr. Brader sent me to see a gastro doctor last August when he thought I had a band slip.  I forget his name but he was really good and he was associated with LGH.

I first went to Dr. Marymor for the pain I was having, and he ran a bunch of tests and then sent me to a gastro guy who found an ulcer.

My family Dr wants me to see a gastro dr because I was in the ER for horrible abdominal pains and chronic diarrhea, they told me that I was fine and I had the stomach flu. The very next day my family dr called and said she got the results of my xray and MRI and some duct is blocked and I need to see a GI dr. I didn't even think of seeing my surgeon. I was having a hysterectomy the following week so I haven't done anything about it yet. I'm just tired of seeing Dr's. I have no idea where it is or what needs to be done but I guess I better find out.

Good luck
