Wow! (and tomorrow might be OWWW)

So 2 1 2/ years out and a wow moment hit me smack dab in the face today.

It ended up being a gorgeous day outside today...but hot and sticky definately.  First off, 2 1/2 years ago you wouldn't have gotten me out of the air conditioning.  End of story.

But not only did I WANT to be outside...I was hijacked by two three year olds and Caitlin (how old is she?)  We spent QUITE a bit of time "playing"...which entailed me running up and down a small hill...sometimes with one of the three year olds on my shoulders.  Rolling down a hill...flipping children all over the place...rocking back on the ground with my knees up making them "fly"....all sorts of things.  Each and every time which was met with "Do it AGAIN"  (Apparantly that word "again" is very common in a three year olds vocabulary, lol)

And ya know what..I was hot, sticky, sweaty....and LOVING it.  Granted...I got winded by the end and I'm SURE I'm gonna feel it tomorrow...but I can't tell you the last time I played outside, let alone for as long as I did, and seriously let alone the heat.

And...I do need to get my arse back into the gym...or rent a few toddlers for a few hours a day, one of the two.  I'm thinking Brian will be more receptive to the former rather than the latter, lol.

Heh.  It was SOOOOOO cool!

You forgot to add that you often had one of those sweet little girls in your arms!!!  And let's not forget that you carried both 3 year olds down the steps and out to the car AT THE SAME time!!!  What a great workout!!!

Well...I carried both three year olds down the stairs and 3/4 of the way to the car.  I lost Hannah the last 1/4 of the yard...my left arm just couldn't do it anymore....but it was pretty cool :)

Yes!  A whole FOREST of stick trees!  But they wouldn't have been "trees" without your ingenious idea!

At one point I was saying how wonderful it is to see that kind of energy being expended by the kids because it means they will SLEEP really, really well that night!  Then I realized YOU were one of the kids and had to laugh!

Caitlin is 9, I think... has a lot of special needs but has come SO far in the past 3 years since coming to live with her dad and Vickie.  Very long story there, very sad, but it's amazing how well she's doing compared with the "feral child" she was at that time.  It was great to see her interacting so normally in so many ways, both with the other kids and with you.

Yep - you'll likely be sore tomorrow, but just think how good it will feel! and how well-earned it will have been!

Had you not said she had special needs I wouldn't have guessed it! She was a sheer delight!

Hey - the kids asked me why you left oranges out by the topsy turvey things. I didn't have an answer....why do you do that?

Keeps the squirrels happy. We put fruit that's gone bad enough that we don't want to eat it out for them and they love it. I suspect the deer also eat the apples.

Ahhh, ok.  I made up some theory on like composting or whatever...I told them that fruits and veggies "help feed the grass" when they break down etc...it satisfied them and was as close to a good idea as I could get lol
