You can't catch up... need discipline
I am bad about staying on top of protein and water on the weekends! I live by my calendar during the week and am fine, but on the weeknd, playing gets in the way.
Need to be better about my discipline / shedule on the weekends to stay in check..if I go too long, I can't "catch up".... must be better this summer about staying ahead on my water, especially when doing yard work - maybe I will get a camelbak..
how do you keep in check on the weekends?

I found it tough to stay on track during the weekends in the beginning. Not sure what changed. Maybe you can incorporate a scoop of protein powder in your breakfast to be sure you get that in. I often put a scoop in my yogurt. Maybe keep a glass by your sink and drink some water everytime you walk by. I drag a bottle of water with me everywhere so I can make sure I'm drinking enough. I'll forget to drink if a bottle isn't nearby. You can always schedule reminders in your cell phone too.
Good luck!!!
Good luck!!!

Maura,
Yep - weekends are definitely tougher. I make sure to start the day with a protein shake, so I know I'm getting at least that base for the day. I also have my blender bottle of water (sometimes with a SF drink mix in it) that goes with me everywhere and is "bottomless" (constantly refilled). Then I just try to make sure that I'm making high protein choices whenever I have the chance, and I am NOT good at journaling on weekends... But I figure that if I'm making the best possible choices at every chance and starting the day with a protein shake, I'm probably ok on average.
Where weekends tend to trip me up is NOT eating as regularly as I should because I get busy with things, then eating too much when I do start to eat because I'm too hungry. I'm trying to fight that tendency with varying success.
i have just bought a camelback (not the camelback brand because they are TOO hard to get open, imho)... got a really nice one at costco for $17 that's a great backpack too. It will be ideal for Disney as well as for hiking and running and whatever. Katie's had a camelback for a couple of years and loves it.

Recurrent theme it appears!
My days off my eating is definately sporatic at best. I don't make the best choices all the time...and I tend to eat less frequently than I should OR I tend to graze all freaking day long.
Water etc. I'm decent at...because I keep my water bottle filled like Karen....and make sure it is within arms distance at all times...it makes me drink more having it as a visual cue.
But, at least you are RECOGNIZING this behavior - which is super important in order to fix it obviously.
