***Freaking Friday Roll Call***
Gonna try this again. I was almost finished with my post a few minutes ago when my computer rebooted to install an update.
Paul and I went out for a walk early this morning. I usually do the treadmill, but his doc wants him to exercise, so I need to drag him outside now and then to get him moving. We're going for haircuts in a few minutes, then need to run some errands. Must finally get Paul's prescription filled for cholesterol meds. He's had it for a few weeks, and I keep trying to remind him to fill it. I also need to go to the optician to get my sunglasses adjusted. It finally dawned on me last weekend that they're too big now because of the weight loss. They're prescription, so it's too expensive to just go buy a new pair. Also want to make Eggface's muffaletta salad for cooking class tomorrow. I made it yesterday, and Paul and I both think it's good.
Had my plastics consult yesterday. I had wanted to do a tummy tuck when I have my hysterectomy, but insurance won't cover any of it, so I won't be doing that just yet. The doc said insurance only pays if your tummy hangs completely over your pubic area and you have skin issues that haven't responded to any other treatments. We got prices from him to do arms, breasts, tummy and legs. $$$$! The doc's costs for those procedures is close to $28,000. And that's not including hospital or anesthesia charges. Looks like I'll be saving my pennies and bugging Lisa Mc for info about Mexico.
Have a great day, all!!!
Seems Paul and I overestimated a bit on that total. Here's the prices the plastic surgeon in Phoenixville quoted me:
Tummy tuck: $4950
Inner thigh lift: $4250
Extended thigh lift: $5750
Arm reduction: $3750
Breast augmentation and lift: $5300 for saline; or $6500 for silicone
The price for thighs would depend on which procedure I chose. And since my girls are pretty much gone, I would have to go with implants. With silicone implants, he said I would have to have an MRI every other year. (I have aneurysm clips in my head, so I don't do MRIs.)
Those are just the surgeon's fees. it's done outpatient, and there are charges for the hospital and for anesthesia as well. Hospital fee for 3 hours is $850; I can't read his charges beyond 3 hours. Anesthesia is $390 for the first hour, then $260 each additional hour.
I'm glad I went for the consult and got some info, but those are costs that I just can't incur right now. I'll be exploring my options for having surgery in Mexico someday.
Truly busy here this past week, so just a quick drop by to say hi and wish you all a great cooking class tomorrow, wish I could be there, but such is my life, busy, busy and busier, but all good, so no complaints here. . .
Hope you all have a wonderful day, anyone healing, I wish you uncomplicated recovery, anyone going through tough times, I wish you strength and peace to get through it!
Hugs, Laureen

Wow - can't believe that it is almost noon already! I haven't done much, take care of a happy baby, 2 loads of laundry and breakfast - that's enough lol
this afternoon we might out and enjoy the sunshine and nice weather for a bit. that is of course if there is a good nap first. My Mom is coming over this evening, we haven't seen her since tuesday - that's a new record! lol Looking forward to seeing her.
Have a great weekend all!
Happy Birthday Kathy!
