Not doing well at all.....

Take a deep breathe and Yes we have all gone through some personel issue that seemed unbareable at the worst time of our recovery,  so you are not alone.  First its alright to be mad- what a jerk doing this to you and your children now right after the surgery.  Believe me when I tell you that now more than any other time you need to think of you first.  Remember your health in the future depends on how you handle this moment in time.
I am not sure what to tell you to do financially but I am concerned about your mental status.  Do you see a phycologist?  If so keep that support system going.  In the beginning it is not only hard to understand your pouches healing but the hormone changes you are going to experience will affect your emotional being so if you already have issues keep on top of your self with alot of medical support

Tammi,

*Hugs* to you.  I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through.  I agree totally with what the others have said....be sure to drink your protein shakes and keep yourself hydrated.  Take care of your health should be #1.  Hopefully, a lawyer can assist you in getting compensation from your husband for abandonment.  Perhaps your therapist can help you apply for disability so you will have some income for you and your two children.

Prayers going up for you and your children. *hugs*

Debbie

He gave me some money but I don't know how long that will last. When it stops I am going to the court house to get something.
I have a phone call appointment on the 25th to try to get disability. So I can get more help.
Thanks for you thoughts!
Tammi

Yes, you've come to the right place.

You will get good support from this board, and I am glad you chose to reach out. It is a very positive, healthy step.

You can't tackle all of these issues at once, but one of my favorite sayings is, "small steps...right direction." Take care of your physical needs - vitamins, water, protein....See your therapist. You've done some good things with getting the ball rolling for food stamps.

Then, tackle one thing at a time. THe house won't be foreclosed tomorrow. You have a little time there to get a few things in order.

And I'll guess that a prayer or two is being sent your way today, too.

Hi Tammi!

Just wanted to send you a big cyber hug!!!  I agree with the others---take care of yourself during this time.  Get your protein, fluids, and vitamins in.  I wish I had some good advice for you, or some magic dust or something, but the best I can do is offer a shoulder and a hug.

take care of yourself as the # 1 like everyone has said..

Not sure of all of the ramifications, but has your talked to your bank about the option of short sale?  A friend of mine was able to work with th bank and put her house on the market for short sale and stay there while it was on the market (she is actually still in the house and this process started in late 2007 - an unfortunate sign of the times)

A short sale is when  the sale proceeds fall short of the balance owed on the loan.  It often occurs when a borrower cannot pay the loan on the property, but the lender decides that selling the property at a moderate loss is better than pressing the borrower. Both parties consent to the short sale process, because it allows them to avoid foreclosure, which involves hefty fees for the bank and poor credit report outcomes for the borrowers.

The bank evaluates bids made based on the short sale and that process can take weeks (precious time).  Based on the economy, banks are more willing to negotiate these days.

Another thought, but I know the time it takes is lengthy is to apply for social security disability if your docs are in agreement that you cannot work.

Just a few thoughts

Thanks for the advice. I will have my husband call the bank to see if we can do that. I am not on the loan. They won't talk with me as far as I know.
