Congrats Bernie on one month!  It does pass and it does get easier...but it also takes a lot of time, determination, and dedication.  You'll find this board is of GREAT value in giving you tips and tricks and trouble shooting!

Good Morning Bernie,
Welcome to the PA forum.  This like an online support meeting, and we have terrific people all over the state.  \

Early recovery from WLS is a learning process.  Take your time, and like you said, small bites, and chew.

Welcome again.

Hi Bernie,

Welcome to this wonderful support board and coming out of lurkdom. . .

As for the "buyers remorse" it is a common enough thing with us early out, especially the early stages when food sources are very restrictive and learning to eat properly by cutting our food into babysize bites, some folks use kiddie utensils and then there is always putting the untensils we use down, instead of the old shovel and swallow (you know what I mean, like put it in my mouth, bite down a few seconds and swallow, so our sense of taste never does get satisified) we are used to prior to surgery. . .  it's all a learning process and here I sit 2+ years out and I still, on occasion, do the old shovel and swallow, it's when I let myself get too hungry that it happens most. . .  and yes, for some, the hunger feeling does return, now I just have to ask, am I really hungry, or am I just feeding because of an emotion or boredom. . .

Anyway, welcome and I'll bet you will do just great

Best wishes, Laureen

Morning!  I had a quite hectic day yesterday...was up dressed and out by 8am and didn't get back till close till 6...then it was dinner with bri, emails, etc, and then crashed and did nothing in the evening.

Unfortuantely part of my day yesterday was bringing my grandfather to his new neurologist in jersey...to get test results...which are pointing fairly directly at alzheimers/dementia and he's declining.  He's already on two of the best meds for it as it is...and he's 83 so really...we had to expect something at some point...just hard to see as the granddaughter, but interesting to see as the clinician as I got to see the tests and what not being performed...something I never get to do.

Anyway - today....made a doc appointment for both Brian and I...I have some sort of ear/sinus thing going on and just want to make sure I don't need antibiotics.  In the meantime brian has had a "pimple" on his face for a few WEEKS now..and as of last night it started looking more like cellulitis on his face as opposed to a simple blemish...so he's gonna get that looked at.

Have some errands to run - need to take our comforter to the laundromat as they have the over sized machines that washes and dries it better than we can at home.

Also starting to make 3 racks of ribs for dinner tomorrow night and afterwards...it's a 2 day process.

So, that's about it for me!  Oh - and catching up on the board a bit!
