I want to be like Al Roker..Motivation Monday

So I was watching the today show as I was on my elliptical for an hour this morning and let's face it as I said at the saturday meeting I am losing the fire in my belly and as a result have regained the 15lbs that I keep losing and gaining. Al Roker had his gastric bypass 8 years ago and had regained 40lbs in between. Al finally is at a healthy range and credits his successing to watching his calorie intake and making excercise his daily routine. With that being said I will hit the gym in the evening and do some strength training in addition to walking on my lunch and breaks. Who else is motivated with me?

Shilpa,

You remain such a positive role model for me.  Thank you.

I did NOT make it out of bed this morning in time to do anything, but will plan on a nice run after work tonight (if the weather holds - otherwise I'll get my butt to the gym for a run).

Karen,
You are too sweet and give me too much credit. As Nan said Quitting is not an option and I certainly don't want to go back to the old Shilpa.

Hi Shilpa,

I saw the piece on Al Roker today as well and was inspired. He looks great and is doning the work! What really hit home for me was his comment about his fear of falling off the wagon. He likened it to an alcoholic. He said he is 1/4 pound away from falling off the wagon if he is not careful. That is my fear and is what keeps me motivated to stay focused and on track. I'm a slave to the scale but I need the reality check everyday.

Anyway, I am a being treated for plantar facitis which is a major bummer so no running for me this week. I'll by cycling today 20 miles.

Wishing everyone a good week. I'm off to Happy Valley for a business trip.

Ok, I just posted about me gaining and worrying. I need the kick in the pants to get in gear. I cancelled my PF membership. to me it felt like I wasn't motivated there.  I may try again in the fall but I want to get moving on my own. I have to get back to logging what I eat. I'm depressed.....one of my cats died last week so I miss him too...RIP Tigger.   He was my " Buddy " slept on my chest at night....

I  am so sorry to hear about your cat. Don't be depressed mourn you loss but try not to stuff your feelings with food. Easier said than done and remember we are here to listen. {{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}
