I think both fields are great ideas. Most doctors are pilots and own their own aircraft.

If I get a chance sometime I will fly down to that area and take him for a ride. May not be this summer but maybe by fall.

Everyone should know how to fly! We take it for granite now a days but it is a true miracle to fly.

He has no interest in being a doctor; mom just wants him to follow in her footsteps.  He's loved planes since before he could talk, so he needs to do what he loves.  He'd probably love to go flying with you---thanks!!  (He's actually 16.  Sorry if I gave the impression that he's a little boy.)  He flew this winter with our brother-in-law, and actually took the controls and also landed the plane on their second flight.

Good morning, all!!!

Steffi----I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a rough patch.  Things will get better!!!

This is our last day at the beach for a week or so.  We'll spend much of the day on the beach, then leave around 6:00.  We drop Anson off at his mom's tonight, then won't see him for 2 weeks.  Paul and I both have some appointments during the upcoming week and also need to catch up on some stuff like the mail.  I may also be spending some time with Mom.  She had her other carpal tunnel surgery last week, and I may spend a couple of days with her so my step-father can go upstate to his cabin.  (If it's over next weekend, I may just bring her along to cooking class---she would enjoy meeting everyone, and the food part would be great for her since her hubby is diabetic.)

Have a great day!!!!

Got up early, though I don't know how - didn't get home til midnight and being in the sun on the black driveway yesterday just killed me.

Dinner with the family was nice (the dinner part anyway) - got filet with mushroom sauce, without the sauce.  We went to my brothers after dinner - Mom fell on the way in to my brothers house - she needed help with the last step - my brother was helping her and she decided she couldn't get up the step, gave up and crumpled down on to the ground like she was boneless. She insisted on laying on the floor for 1/2 hr.  Then we got her over to a stair and got her up no problem - movement around for the rest of the night was no problem.

How did my brother react to this you ask?  Like a lunatic - he lost it - he threw a shoe across the room - said I f&cking knew this would happen - stormed off to a room by himself - then went upstairs by himself - then told my father that he doesn't care what happens to her, he is sick of this then got in the car and flew down the road.   He has major major anger problems and won't see a therapist.  I then had to follow my parents home, make sure that my mom got in the house while my husband had to walk home from the train station that I was supposed to pick him up from and sit on the patio out back for almost an hour because he didn't have his keys to get in the house - he knew I was doing what I needed to, but lets just say he's not happy with my brother.

Am hoping for a better day today - hanging with friends for the afternoon - going downstairs to work out now and try to purge some of my anger and frustration - no yoga, class was booked :(  needed that meditation / calming effect today.

Have a great day PA!

Sorry to hear about what's going on Steffi. I hope today is a better day.

I am not sure what I am doing today. I need to start making some list of what I need to get done for my oldest daughters graduation. Maybe that's a start. Oh and I must start working on laundry. I have been procrastinating allot with it.

Have a great day all.

Good Morning Steffi and PA,
I am so sorry you are going through a rough patch right now.  Think positive, and wait before worrying.

Had an awesome time at the birthday picnic yesterday.  Was asleep before 10:00 last night.

Today I overslept, so I missed church.  I am going to walk Utley, and then clean up the kitchen from the mess I made with dinner on Friday, which I did dishes already, and decorating cupcakes yesterday.  I will also hit the gym for a swim, and see if Isabel wants to join me.  Then, I think I will pull out the sewing machine and see what I can do with it, while watching the Phillies.  Saw the end of last night's game and was thrilled to see Jamie Moyer complete his second game this season.  What a thrill.

Stay cool.

Trish

Good morning Steffi and PA.

Steffi,  I hope today gies well for you.  Hang in there!

Today I need to hit the grocery store and finish laundry.  Need to plan the weeks meals, etc.

I am still sick as a dog-- on day 5 of antibiotics and feeling a bit worse than when I went to the doctor, so I will be taking it somewhat easy and monitoring that through the week to determine if I need to go back to the doc.

Have a good one everyone!

Morning, All...

Steffi - look for an email from me in a bit.

Maura - So sorry you had to go through that family drama.  Sounds like you handled it the best way that you could, and without "feeding" and supporting the anger issues.  Hugs.

Dawn - I'm not Pam, but I'd say if after 5 days on antibiotics if you're feeling WORSE you definitely shoudl go back to the doc - could be bacterial or antibiotic-resistant something or other.

This is my first "quiet time" in days... my nephew and sis in law left about half an hour ago.  Hubby and daughter #2 are both at work, daughter#1 and friends are at the Philly Bike Race in Manayunk, and my mom's upstairs sulking.  Ahhh.  Sitting here in the quiet surrounded by cats, listening to the fish tank bubble.  Better than meditation at the moment.

Despite everything, we had a really nice weekend with my sister in law and nephew.  Went to the lobster bake yesterday evening and enjoyed the group - all 9 of us, including various friends/boyfriends/relatives.  The wacky ones chose not to attend, thankfully.  Came home, went for a great 2-mile walk as a group with the dog (that was after a really aggressive workout at the gym with my nephew that morning - so I'm sore today!!), and had a relaxing and fun family evening talking, making popcorn, and watching Invictus (great movie!), which none of us had seen.

So today is playing catch up - writing the performance evaluations that were due last week, doing laundry, planning what I've got to get done this week, and generally getting life back to normalcy.  I'm really looking forward to the cooking class on Saturday, too!

Hopefully you'll all find peace and happiness in the day today.

Love,
karen

Morning all... Steffi, I know yesterday was rough for you.  I'm glad I was able to be with you so you could vent.  I hope things get better with Larry and that your talk with the Rabbi is just a talk.  What's going on that you are having issues with the lesson plans and stuff ?? Is it just the fact that you have a billion other things going on? Or is there something else?

Yesterday, I had a great morning of support at Barix.  (Thanks again for letting Siehara hang at Steffi's house and to Beth for driving)

Went to the motivation/exercise group and got some great information, including a challenge from Mike Materacky to get to the gym 4 days this week.  I'm on it!   After Barix, went back to Steffi's house and hung with the family and Beth and Deanna for a bit.  Then Siehara and I went with Stef and the family over to one of her friend's houses for a nice get together.  More friends for me to steal on FB!! WOOOT!

Came home late and my new guy friend I met when Tanya was home came over and we watched a couple of movies.  He introduced me to Anime.. interesting..

TODAY--- Woke up earlier than I set my clock for and instead of laying around wasting time doing nothing, I got my butt out of bed and went over to the gym for pilates class.  It really helped to stretch out my legs from my trainer work out!  DAY 1 for the week in the books!

The rest of the day will be focused fully on Siehara.  She has 2 dance recitals today.  One at 1:00 and one at 4:30.  She is in 2 different classes, plus the finale.  So, she will be dancing in 6 numbers today.. WOWSA!  She's going to be exhausted tonight!  My sister and step mom are coming in for the 1:00 show so I will be with them for that.  Then we are going to grab something to eat after that show.  Siehara has to stay in the building, so I will pack something for her to eat in between.  Then, I will go back and watch the second show.

After that, we were invited over to David and Sarah's for a joint birthday party for Judy and Ethan, but it will depend on what time it is if we will go or not.  I'm thinking we will probably just come home and bring them their gifts another time.  I have a feeling we will both be exhausted after the recitals.

Alrighty.. have to go do Siehara's hair for the recital now and take a shower.  Have a great day everyone!
