OT - update on today

Well, today went a heck of a lot better than I was afraid it would.  SIL got her "shot" this morning and another one this afternoon... truly pathetic.  But it got her through the day with only minor meltdowns.

Other SIL and nephew are staying over at our house tonight and tomorrow night.  It will be fun having them!  Lobsterfest at Trinity Episcopal Solebury tomorrow afternoon (yum!)...

The food was all a hit.  No one except a few people knew that the desserts were sugar free.  Got a lot of requests for recipes, though ;-).

Thank you all for the ideas and support.

Karen,

Soooo glad to hear that things went well today!  These things are never easy under the best of cir****tances, let alone when there are "problem children" in the family.  (Yeah, I get it---I threw my oldest brother out of the house a day or so after we buried my dad.  It was more of an entitlement thing---he was grabbing everything in sight, claiming birthright since he's the oldest.)  Can't say I'm surprised your food was a huge hit---you're an amazing cook!!!

I am glad things went better than expected.  I have a very small family and am not close with anyone who is left.  I tolerated my sister when my parents passed away, since I was the one who had everything at my house and pretty much did everything necessary.  She left as soon as she fulfilled her "commitment" as a Jew.

Enjoy the time with the other SIL and nephew and have some lobster for me!

Of course the food was a hit.. nobody needs to know that they are eating healthy!

Well hopefully you will be able to see this - OH is giving me problems on my work computer. The audacity I tell you!

Anyway - glad to hear things went ok for now. I know from experience with some family members of mine, they get through the incident with only a few meltdowns, but then days or even weeks later, they hit a breaking point. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear you were able to make the best out of a terrible situation.

in lieu of individual responses, please accept a big THANK YOU from me to each one of you for your ongoing support and good wishes through all this.

I will NOT be at Barix today - still have family in and will be spending the day with them.

Love to you all
