One Year Surgiversary

Good Morning Everyone!!

A year ago today I was getting prepped for what would be a completely new and healthier lifestyle. I remember how nervous and scared I was. I also remember a conversation that I had with Dr. P right before the surgery. She asked me if I had any questions and then said to me that I can still say no if I wanted to. My response was that even though I was nervous and scared I wanted to do it to get healthy and be happier with myself. With everything I went through to get to that point I was NOT giving up now. After surgery, the nurses at Barix were so great! Yes, they were unrelenting and made you do things even when you didn't want to or feel that you had the energy to. I realize now that what they did was to my benefit and to a quick recovery.

Now, a year later and 130lbs lighter, I am half the person I used to be! The WOW moments, the friends I have made, the support and encouragement along the way has all been worth it.

This morning as I was getting Dee ready for school, she said to me "You're a pretty Mama, I look into your eyes and I see pretty!"What an amazing moment for me!!

I just want to thank all of you for your friendship, support, encouragement and love! I hope that we will continue to go through this journey together for years to come.

Thanks Lisa! I can't believe it is a year already either. It flew by so quickly, but it has been an adventure!! I am glad that we became friends!!!

Beth...You have done so amazing this past year and I remember that your road to get to the loser's bench was not easy. You knew what you wanted to better your life and you never gave up. You look amazing and always have a smile when I see you so that is very telling just how good you are doing.

What a beautiful thing for Dee to say to you this morning of all mornings. Savor your Wow's on this journey.

Thanks Beth! You and Dennis have been there with me through each hurdle that I had to overcome and I truly appreciate that! Your support and helpful advice has really made this an amazing year. I think Dee instinctively knew what today was, although I didn't tell her.
