I didn't read all the responses you probably got from this thread alone, but wanted to welcome you.  I know easier said than done...but definately don't be afraid of posting here.  We are one big happy (all be it sometimes dysfunctional) family *****ally and truly wants nothing else other than to see each other continue successing!

Can't wait to follow your journey with you!

Good Morning All,

Last night once home I opted to not make dinner but Dennis and I went out and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was just a good night all around we did a lot of talking about all types of things.

Today I in work Ihave some personal stuff I want to take care of then once free at 5 I will go home to cook dinner the bugers I never cooked last night. I also need to make plans for my friend Carmine to pick up tickets for the WXTU concert tickets since Dennis and I are not going to this show. I am just glad they are not going to waste and someone can use them.

Looking forward to the weekend it is somewhat quiet so I will be home in my own house to get things done. Then it seems after this weekend we are booked straight through to the middle of August with things to do. Life is good!!!!

Glad that things are looking brighter Steffi and Pam!

I know that Mom's can drive you crazy but Ladies just be glad you still have your Mom's here with you  to drive you crazy. I would give anything to have one more day with my Mom drivnig me batty!

We found a lost dog about a year ago and Peyton temporarily named him Sparky...she still talks about Sparky the Wonderdog! He lived with us for 24 hours til his owners found him. It's a really fun name!

Today is boring. Tomorrow I'm chaperoning a field trip with Alexis to Niagara Falls. I LOVE this field trip. I went with Sierra when she was in 5th grade. Once we get there we have the freedom to go wherever and do whatever we want until it's time to board the bus home. AWESOME!!

But, let me vent for a flippin' minute. Last week my husband chap.'d a trip to Kennywood and they were told that we hadn't paid for the trip yet. However, I remember paying TWICE for the trip and we were actually waiting for the change from the last time we paid. SO, I called the teacher in charge of the trip this morning and she cut me off twice to tell me she didn't have any record of us paying. Now, I understand that I am not perfect. not incapable of making a mistake. but, this is the 2nd person in 2 weeks that INSISTS without a DOUBT that they ARE! My daughter handed her two $20 bills from her OWN piggy bank and only owed $30...she handed it to the teacher and Alexis told us she put it in her pocked, said "thanks" and walked away. no receipt. no get the change back to you soon. nothing. She told us that night. (about 6 weeks ago) I call today...teacher cuts me off and rudely states "we have no record of receiving payment and we are very careful". I said, "if you'd let me finish, I'd like you to know that I KNOW you don't have record  because she said you put it in your pocket and walked away"...hence, no record. so, she wants me to pay a 3rd time and Alexis doesn't get her change back. AAARRRRRGH!

No options, just pay again. SERIOUSLY!? I never complained about paying the 2nd time, I figured it's elem. school, if they need the money to cover other kids, didn't keep good records, whatever, I'll pay again. But, to accuse me of not paying either time, lying, being deceitful and cutting me off...now THAT ticks me off!

Ok, I'm done. I get that teachers are awesome and work hard and do lots of crap they don't like or need to do. But, so do I!   disclaimer to Steffi: I am NOT teacher bashing...just "people-that-think-they-are-flawless" bashing. I am flawed and freely admit it. daily.

So, I'm sitting here typing away with a one year old foot (the owner of that foot is sleeping next to me) that keeps randomly kicking me. Must have restless leg syndrome already! So stinkin' cute.

Oh baby - no worries about my thinking you were teacher bashing over here - we just came back from a VERY expensive day cruise in Philadelphia and we tell the students that we will NOT just take their money - they must OPEN the envelope in front of us = count the money and then WAIT for the receipt.  Now - remember - these are 8th graders - however, even with work they hand in I do NOT allow them to give it to me withou****CHING me mark that I received it!  I do NOT want them to think that I lost something that was VERY important to them.

It is DEFINITELY the responsibilty of the educator to make sure that any money is accounted for and many have been known to put it in their pockets and forget - whether accidental or not.  What did you end of doing?  And - as an educator - I REALLY have a problem with teachers NOT giving parents the ability to discuss ANYTHING with them.  And believe me - I have certainly dealt with my fair share of irate parents - but bottom line - the people I am talking about are THEIR children and they have every right to know what is going on with them whether they are in the right or not.  I treat my parents the way I EXPECT to be treated by my own children's teachers.  And I hope that if I ever screw up - which will no doubt happen, then I will be advised so that I can make the proper apologies.

(i am a little passionate about all things educations - can you tell?!?! )  Don't get me started on No Child Left Behind! :)

I was FLOORED at her attitude! Maybe she was having a bad day, cuz' I've never known her to be so rude! She had such a "we never do anything wrong" attitude. I'm sure your trip is way more expensive. I wasn't going to make any big deal about paying twice, but THREE TIMES!!! good grief! I'm not made of money people!

The way SHE ended it is that we need to pay $40 and she'll wave the $30 that my daughter paid in cash...which was actually $40...that she pocketed. In no way do I believe that she did it intentionally. I totally believe that she stuck it in her pocket and never gave it another thought. I'm not happy with how she left it. My husband could not have chaperoned if I didn't send money in right away. SO, that tells me I did send money in the first time. Then we had to send money in the 2nd time or he wasn't going to be able to chaperone...which he did. They would have given his chap. spot away to another parent if they didn't get paid. So, I am pretty sure that we paid both times. Lots of parents like to chaperone these trips. The only way I can fight it is to ruin it for future parents and I don't want to do that either. at the WORST I could not pay, ruin it for future families and have to pay when she's graduating. They'll keep track of it and won't let her graduate until all her school life debts are paid.

THAT sounds tempting to make the teacher wait, but, again, I don't want to ruin it for anyone else.

Thanks for your comments. I get so fired up about stuff like this. Especially when I've tried to let it slide and not make a big deal out of their error(s).

Well good morning all. We are doing well. Up most of the night so I am one tired Momma but OK. Mia has decided that from midnight until 3 am she doesn't want to sleep in her crib - she wants Mommy to hold her... I love the snuggles but  my back/neck hates sleeping in the recliner. Hopefully this is a short phase!

Nicole - sorry to hear about Sparkle, I hope that the vet can recomend a diet change that will make her more comfortable. We have to give Newman a special "urinary tract" formula so he doesn't get UTI's. The things we do for our fur babies!

Have a good day all - stay cool and hydrated!

LIZ how are my other two favorite Schmee's doing???

I cannot wait to meet her. Hope to see you soon.

Thanks for the well wishes for Sparkle. She has always been UPTIGHT if you know what I mean. she doesnt eat wet food, not enough water, always running away and skittish. To be honest as stressed out as she gets I am surprised she has lived this long
