Thursday Roll Call
Setting the limits with my mom is never easy because she fights it tooth and nail... was just on me again this morning about whether she should go Friday. I reminded her of the whole conversation and the decision and WHY it was a bad idea, and she just sulked her way back upstairs. I think she wants to be there to see the train wreck, personally.
I am a crisis personality - handle it nicely then find the time to fall apart afterward. All I can say is I'm REALLY looking forward to cooking class this month - haha! Will be a fun one!
Thanks for your good wishes, I really appreciate them.
Karen
I had to learn to set limits with my mom as well. I told her I did not want her to come up for the WLS when I had it because I did not want to be worried about her. How she was doing, where she would stay etc. she did not let me live it down for years but I would do it again in a second.

My younger sister and I were e-mailing yesterday and I was telling her how nice my vacation was with my older siblings - no drama, no b.s., just a nice relaxing time - she said 'You know, Mom was a real Sh*t-Stirrer and liked to keep all of us at each other' - and she's absolutely right - and now I wonder why? Why did she like creating all that drama? She'd talk about each of us to the others about our faults and problems - putting down our spouses and our decisions. I don't know if it was because she had no one outside of our family - and for the same reasons - she found fault with everybody she encountered.
Mom's - gotta love 'em but damn they can make you crazy!!
Hang in there Karen - I am sorry to hear about the loss of your M-I-L. Please take care over the next few, stressful days - we're all here if you need to vent, cry, scream or whine - go for it!!
Kathy
Today is day 1 of summer vacation!
I have an appointment to get my bridesmaid dress altered today so my momma is coming over to hang with the kiddos until I get home. Then, with a storm in the forcast for later today, I think I just might make use of these boys at home and DEEP clean the living room and rearrange furniture.
I am back on track today after my hissy fit over the Lasagna. Healthy breakfast and lunch planned, not sure about dinner yet but I will figure something out.
Hope everyone enjoys the day. June is beautiful........Summer is here and although I begin working part time next week, I am looking forward to my FIRST summer ever of not working full time and hanging with kids. (Check on me in a few weeks, I may regret saying that!)
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Nothing going on here today. I think we may go for a walk in a few minutes, then pack up and go out to sit on the beach for the afternoon. Yesterday was an interesting experience on the beach---there was a group of teens/young adults near me. I learned about piercings, among other things.
Have a great day, all!!
Sounds like a lot of us are going through stuff and needing to talk. I had one of those days over the weekend. Well, Wednesday, Isabel and I had our date and she exhausted me just trying to keep up with her. First, we went to McDonald's and had lunch, and then she played on the play area. After that, we went to Dick's and she bought a goofy ball that has stuff all over it, like hair. Then, we went to the gym, where they have family swim, and she just was like the Energizer Bunny. She played in the water for almost a solid hour. After our shower, we went back to her Grandpa's and I came home to crash.
Today, I am heading to the gym to water walk, and then home to clean and make hair pretties for her birthday, to go with the stuff I made her. Then, tonight I have a date with my grandson. Isabel and her Mommy are going to Sesame Place, so I am babysitting Lincoln, who is 10 months old. He is almost walking.
Hope everyone stays cool.
Hugs,
Trish

So, I have a question about what to call it when you get into the two hundreds? You see my goal weight is around 240. So, when I finally get into the 200's what will I say? Welcome to twoderville? Making it to the 100's and joining Onderland isnt going to happen for me.....too skinny! Any thoughts?
Steffi- Im glad your recognizing all the blessings around you and feeling the contentment that they bring. You rock!
Lisa- go to the gym!
Nicole- Hi, we need to talk more. I hope Sparkle can go potty soon!
Karen- One step at a time babe! Dont look too far ahead at all the potential problems, it will be overwhelming! Break it down, identify the immediate need or trouble spot, make a plan and then watch out for boobie traps. Remember you can only do so much and you cant be all things to all people. Dont forget to take care of you first!
Maura-Hi new facebook friend! Maybe Lisa could learn something from you like how to work out in the morning so she doesnt have to chant it all day long...just sayin. Good luck on your haircut.
Jo- Keep taking care of yourself and planning for you. Go get a replacement dish so you can continue to make your own food projects. Im glad you ate around the other lasagna and didnt go eat something you would regret. Have a great day!!!!!
Pam- That laundry isnt going to fold itself! Good job using friends over food last night. "Friends over food! Friends over food! Friends over food!"
Laureen- Im glad your back on here! I like to meet new/old friends. The more the better!
Lynn- Show that personal coach you mean business!
Kathy- Peeing 4 times a night...sheesh! LOL Hey, you might actually sleep better if you work out in the evening..Just a thought! Maybe set an alarm for 7:00 pm as a reminder to get on the bike?
Patricia- the young ones keep us young...sounds like you did a great job keeping up and you probably got 2 work outs in yesterday as a result. Keep it up!
So I think today will be my last day of work this week. I go in for a shot in my back tomorrow to help deal with the pain so I figure since its at 11;00 in the morning I might as well take the whole day off....BRILLIANT! Then its packing and getting the car ready for our family vacation to the outer banks. I plan on taking my laptop so I can check in with you all while im out of pocket! I hope all of you beautiful people have a great day and weekend!!!!!

I wish I could go in the morning, but with my work schedule it is just not possible. On a normal day, I work 7-3:30. When doing OT, I work 5-3:30. Regardless, the kid care at the gym doesn't open until 8:30 so I would have nowhere to go with her if I could get there at 5.
If I would do some sort of exercise at home, that would involve dragging her ass out of bed and that would just cause aggravation that I really don't need.
I just need to get back into my afternoon ritual and I'll be fine. Once school is over and all of her after school crap is done, I'll be golden.
Hey, have a great vacation - relax and enjoy - and it's great to see more testosterone on the boards!!
Kathy
ps: And yes, Twoterville (or however you want to spell it) is correct - I doubt I'll ever break into the 100's either so it works for me.
