I was told the same thing by the office staff.  I originally had an appt with Dr. Quinlin, but was rescheduled with Dr. Zelkovic due to Dr. Quinlin taking leave.  I do hope all is well.

Me too. I am meeting with Dr. Zelkovic tomorrow. If you've already had surgery, let me know how things went and if you liked him. Thanks.MAL

I have not had surgery.  They said around October according to what my insurance says.  Let me know your impressions after your appt.

I met with him and liked him. He has a very human touch. I am going to post to see if I can find others who have had him operate.  Is your six months in October, or is there another reason for the delay? My six months are up this month, in June.

With my insurance, I have enough medical conditions that I didn't have to do the typical 6 months. However, it will end up being 6 months or more it seems.  My mandatory ed class is 8/9.  I asked the scheduler for Dr. Zelkovic if she could tell my how long it typically takes after a person does the mandatory ed class until the actual surgery.  She said it would be around October.

I did start a thread asking if anyone had Dr. Zelkovic operate, but no replies yet.

If you want to, I'd love to hear how the process works as you go through it.

Of all the things to be anxious about, I think I am most concerned about post-op.  I wonder how long I will be unable to care for my son.  When I ask this question, no one can really give me an answer.  Usually, it's something like "it's different for everyone".   This is a pressing concern, as I don't have family around to help.  I'm seriously considering flying my mother out from the west coast to help, but that puts an imposition on her, as my stepfather will require a caregiver if she came.

I live alone so I am in a similar situation to you. My mother lives hear fortunately, but she is 84 so is only capable of limited help. But she's in pretty good shape, fortunately.

My sister had the surgery but she did not have laparoscopic. This was about five years ago. She was basically out of commission a good two weeks. I am hoping it will be less time for us. I did ask the doctor how long I would feel "terrible" at home and he said about two days. So I would say somewhere between two days and two weeks that we will be bedridden if all goes well.

Take care.
