An interesting tidbit about iron
Well I had a plummeting H&H level after having Mia due to blood loss so I had to talk to the OB about iron supplementation. His perscription - a bowl of total cereal a day. I was shocked but he said that it is a great source of iron and the body easily absorbs it without the nasty side effects on the stomach (especially considering my sensitive pouch). So 3/4 of a cup of total a day for a month then we'll retest (I went from an H&H Of 14 to 6.8) and see how it is looking. I know that it is carbs but it is whole grain and loaded with the good stuff.
When I was starting work at 7, I ate a bowl every morning at work. (with lactaid of course! lol) I haven't gotten any inawhile since I have time to cook breakfast, but it was an easy, filling breakfast so I didn't get into the habit of skipping a meal.
Now that I am thinking about it, I may pick some up, divy it out into 3/4 cup baggies and keep on hand for a quick snack or go to when in a bind. That would be so easy to put in the car to have on hand for those times I need something so I don't stop and get junk.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
liz,
Love the nickname - how pretty! And the profile pic is a really cute one.
As to cereal, I've occasionally be eating multi-grain cheerios, but toppping them with muscle milk light, so I get a nice protein and vitamin boost. using the chocolate one makes it extra yummy and it's incentive to make sure I finish the "milk" :-).
Just an idea!
