** Marvelous Memorial Day Monday roll call **
Steffi I am glad you made it through the wedding and actually managed to have a good time. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. I am proud of you for going and for facing it. Enjoy your cook out today. I was thinking on all the cook out posts. I dont think I have ever been to a memorial day cook out ever. In fact I have actually been to very few cook outs ever. Not sure what that is about..lol
Woke up real sore from the horse. Knee is purple and swollen. Dont think I will be in a hurry to do a trail ride again. I am glad I did it though.
Jason is outside POWER WASHING the deck he is not sore at all what a MANLY MAN! lol I am cleaning up after the party still. Gonna lay low today I am sure. Get ready for the work week and be thankful it is short.
Enjoy your day. This is a very important Holiday and I am glad that we observe it even if we do make it the kick off to summer. Send up a good thought for our troops, those fallen and those still in combat
Still at the beach. In a little while, I'll pack a lunch for us and we'll head out to spend the day on the beach. This town has been pretty insane this weekend---traffic is horrendous. We don't go out much when we're here, but you still can't miss seeing how much traffic there is. Last night, we watched the aftermath of an accident involving a big pickup truck and a scooter (like a mo-ped). No idea what happened, but the emergency personnel did an awesome job. Made me think of Eric, Pam, Larry, Brian, and countless other folks who take care of us---thank you, guys!!!
Have a happy, safe Memorial Day!!! Thanks to all who have protected this country!!!
So glad you had a great experience and are looking forward to today's cookout. ENJOY!!!
Woke up to bad news this morning - my mother in law passed away early this morning. It is a blessing given what she's been through for the past few weeks, but is very wrenching, nonetheless. Unfortunately, she's been the glue holding together my sister-in-law for the past few years, so we'll see what train wrecks follow - we're all holding our breath as to the next few weeks with her. I know that Eddie and I will have to take the lead on most of the arrangements, and I'll be doing most of the cooking for the post-funeral reception - will likely also have to do the cleaning of my sister-in-law's house. Hopefully the elec company won't have cut off her power (which they were threatening to do) or we'll have to find somewhere else to have it...rx drug addiction is horrible and we will not give her money to enable it. Meeting with the funeral home tomorrow morning. it's going to be one hell of a week, I think.
Today, however, is likely to be the calm before the storm. We're going to work in the yard and get some sun, enjoy the day. I have some jewelry work to do and will also need to do a couple of things regarding my work, since I won't be in this week much.
I hope you all have a wonderful and peaceful and SAFE memorial day!
