June 12th - Cooking Class!

More detailed post to come later, but please save June 12th for this month's cooking class.  Once again, it will be at my house in Doylestown... plenty of room, parking and grill space, as well as lots of yard for the kiddies to play.  Wii for those who are so inclined. 

SO... what would you like to see made WLS-friendly this month?  Recipes? Ideas?  (I'm thinking BBQ!!!  Summer salads and maybe a batch of homemade ice cream?  Whaddaya think?)

Ryleigh, Hannah and I will be there.  If grilling and summer type is the plan, I will maybe break out my skewers (and try not burn myself this time) and doing something fun with them.  Maybe marinate some meat, get some veggies and do some kabob kinda things.  Just thinking out loud here....

Sounds wonderful!  (maybe try wooden skewers this time - soak them in water for about an hour first - keeps them from burning and less chance of burning yourself on them too)

Well Karen, I could do wooden skewers but I thought it was an extra special touch that I could leave some of my seared flesh on the shrimp skewers last time at Liz's.  Reminds of this diner I went to the other week.  The coffee was so damn hot I'm certain I left some of my lip in the cup. 

I think you just like injuring yourself so you can cry to us about poor you.

Really?  Coffee?  Either let it cool FIRST...or...and I know I'm going on a limb here..maybe put some ice in it?

I'm not sure if I will be at this one.  One of my FB/ SBAAWLS OH friends is coming to NYC from MN, and I think we are going to try to get together on June 12.  I'll know for sure closer to the time, but it looks like that will be the best day for us to get together.

and you can't bring this friend to a cooking class?  are you ashamed of us?  Sheesh.

There are 3 of them and they are making plans to meet up with a bunch of people in the city..

of course, I would LOVE for them to meet you all.  BUT, sometimes I have to sacrifice to meet up with others.   It may end up being a night time get together, in which case, I will be at the cooking class and then will go into the city later.  

I am prettty sure we will be there. If you are making strawberry ice cream i would drive to the ends of the earth

Haha - no problemo!  Last night I was hankering for some and made it with frozen cherries, half a frozen banana, and a little SF chocolate syrup - OMG delicious!!!  Such an easy flexible recipe!
