Finally Friday Roll Call

Today has had a wonderful turn of events.  Yesterday I found out upon getting to work that all the databases I use to do my job would be down starting 6pm last night and will not be up and running for those of us that are not testing to sign into until Tuesday.  Sooooooo I now have a 4 day weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  the company did not communicate this very well so when I talked to my boss yesterday she said enjoy your day off compliments of the company.  This was a day off that I really needed.

I am now up and showered and ready to get this day started.  Tomorrow is dad's surprise 90th birthday party.  Last night I went to the Resturant Store to get the supplies I needed from there, Party City to get the decorations.  Found a really cool baseball happy birthday sign that I can personalize with Phillies stuff - Dad is a big fan.  Today I will be heading to my daughters in Jersey to go food shopping for the party, no sense buying the food here and taking it tomorrow, I'm going there to get the food put in her fridge and freezer and she's doing all the prep work for me.  My oldest is doing all the baking - she is even trying her hand at WLS friendly baking for Gene and I.  I have two wonderful daughters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also have to drop the car off for a much needed oil change. 

It was so nice waking up this morning knowing Gene and I would be spending the day together!

Headed to Pittsburgh this weekend to stay with friends and then visit some other friends before we head home. Gotta' pack. Gotta' pack the kids stuff. clean the hamster cage. gather stuff for me to drink/eat on the way and while there. locate a vitamin shoppe there. find my sunglasses. locate the mp3 players. locate the ds's. charge all of the above. oh, locate the dvd player for the van. and movies. install the dvd player. load everyone up with travel sickness meds. and we're on our way! doesn't that sound like fun?

Jim and Alexis went on a field trip yesterday and we were waiting up at the school for them to return and it turns out that Alexis was "getting sick" and they had to pull the bus over for her. So, I had "the token puker" that made everyone late getting back. Aaaaah, the glory of motherhood. Now we turn around and do it again today. All of us girls are travel pukers. Jim is SOOOOO lucky!

Oh, need to bake cookies for the family we're going to stay with. I don't know who likes them better, the kids or the parents. Either way, one more thing to do.

So, I guess I better get off of here and I'll be back on Monday.

You are SOOOO my NEW best friend!!!!  I think there should DEFINITELY be a National Steffi Day - not sure how pleased my husband would be - however, he thinks that every day is NAtional Steffi Day and is growing tired of it! :)  Thanks for the shout out - It will be a GOOD day! :)

Thanks re the name!  I can't take credit for it though---he's my 'stepson.'  He's a junior and goes by his middle name.  The thought was that it would be less confusing that way, but stuff still gets mixed up, like mail.

Morning everyone!

Today I am at wor****il 5pm.  It's been an up and down kinda day for me so far.  Currently we are on the upswing, so I got that going for me.  After work, hanging out with the kids since I am working middle shift all weekend and won't see them all that much.  Definitely jealous of all of you and your parties, picnics and 3 day weekends.  You all suck.  

Not much else going on in my little corner of the world.  Have a great weekend and holiday everyone!

I guess since we all suck I'd better not tell you that I'll be at the beach for a week.....

Friday is here! Today I am at work and we normally get out early on holiday weekends so once free I will run to the store to get the stuff I need to make spinach dip and fruit for BBQ's I am going to this weekend.

Then tonight I am going to see Sex & The City 2 with the girls then we are going to kick off summer at Curran's with the Secret Service Band. Not a real late night I say now because we have a full weekend.

Tomorrow I have a BBQ with some friends we will stay there until around  4 then we are heading down the shore to spend the night at my girlfriend Joanne's she is having a big Freedom party since her divorce is final and her ex finally moved out of the house. Going to be a good time for sure with the my girls. Sunday we will hang with them for awhile then we will have to make our way home. Maybe a fast trip to Atlantic City for some gambling then we need to get home because Den has to work on Monday.

Monday has me going to a yet another BBQ at Susan's with a bunch of the girls. I am going to take my Aunt Mary with me so she does not spend the holiday alone. Then once done work Den will meet me there.

Going to be a good weekend filled with lots of friends and good times.

Tri****'s so great to see such positive things going on for you - yay!

Today's a pretty quiet day at work - so many people took off for the holiday, so very few meetings and such going on (yay).  I'm going to TRY and get out of here early and may get to run up and see Liz and Amelia if I can get back in time for Eddie's birthday dinner (sushi!).

Tomorrow I'm going to run up to see my mother in law in the hospital.  As of this morning, she's moved into a regular room out of ICU, off the vent and off the feeding tube.  She asked eddie yesterday if I would bring my haircutting kit and trim her hair for her.  

Sunday, I'm so looking forward to the trail ride!  It will be fun (and hot!!! - may borrow Katie's camelback if she's not using it... hmmm) and great hanging out with "my peeps."  (Where on earth did that expression come from anyway??)

No real plans for monday - will be working on catching up with stuff around the house, I think.

I hope that those of you who are on the road this weekend have SAFE travels.

Trish - Enjoy every second that your munchkins are here!! You'll have to take pics of your granddaughter in the outfits you made for her so we can see her cuteness and your handiwork!

As for me - I am on my own for the first time with Amelia. My Mom will be here around 3 but we are here alone until then. I am OK with that because she decided that 5am was a great time to play and be totally awake. So I think shortly we'll both be taking a nap.

We don't have too much planned for the weekend. We were supposed to go to my Grandparents tomorrow but the drive is just too much for me right now so they are bringing the party to us :) Works for me!
