Finally Friday Roll Call

Goooooooooooooooood Morning Pennsylvania,
I am thrilled, psyched, and thoroughly elated today, because my grandchildren, and their parents, are arriving from Michigan.  They left their home near Lansing around 5:00 on Thursday, but hit a couple of snags before they ever got out of Michigan.  They are dragging a small trailer with tools my son-in-law needs for some construction work he will be doing here.  Two tires blew on the trailer.  They called me around 9:00 and had not left the state.  So, I do not know how far they will drive, but hopefully, they will be getting up this morning fresh and ready to roll.

I am not sure when to expect them, as they are staying at my ex's.  I offered to babysit the munchkins so they could get a nap when they get here.  I have some shopping to do, and there is always McDonald's Playland in Penndel, with the neat fish tank.  I also spoke with my ex last night and offered to bring them some pizza and antipastos from our favorite pizza place in Fairless Hills so I could crash their homecoming with Dad and his wife and steal more time with the kidlets.  My kids alway**** this place when they are home.  It is better than mother's milk.

So, staying up late to finish some cleaning, and must make an AA meeting early morning.  Hmmmm.  I also hope to hit the pool first thing too.  I have been there several times already this week.  I am doing water walking, as my back can't handle much else.  I pedal my legs like riding a bike.  It ain't much, but at least I am moving.  So is the scale.  I lost another five pounds this week.  I must be doing something right.

Have a great start to the Memorial Day weekend, and do not forget our fallen servicemen and women.  I want to go put flowers on my brother's grave this weekend.  It has a flag as he was a veteran.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish - Look who is upbeat and genuinely happy......I am so thrilled that things are so positive for you right now...you deserve it!

Sleep is eluding me - I have NO idea why this time - Went to sleep content and tired = although come to think of it - I did take a nap after school yesterday - still though...Oh well - there is always this weekend?!!?  Yeah right!

So the fabulous holiday weekends upon us - I LOVE this weekend - with knowing the summer is ahead of us - the school year is winding down, camp is around the corner.....ahhhh....yup - it seems this is an upswing to my general moodiness! :)  My students, and my family, should all be wary - I might make them laugh or something! :)

So - I am headed to work at some point after I hopefully fall back to sleep for a little, and not to shock anyone - but I get to administer yet another STUPID standardized test today....oh the joy....PLEASE be online to play with me..... I may want to hurt myself.....UGH!!!!!!"  I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB, I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!"  I figure if I keep saying it I will remember that I ACTUALLY do love my job and get through the stupidity of these tests, in MAY nonetheless......That does NOTHING to affect the grade of these kids - it is just another way to gather data that means just about nothing....and I AM THE MATH teacher - I LOVE data.....UGH!!!!  Ramblings at 4:15 AM - pretty dangerous!

In any event, I will come hom from school, shower because I have no doubt it will be hot and humid in my classroom and for the safety of those around me, getting in the shower is the least I can do! :)  I am going to find something AMAZING and SKINNY to wear.  Tonight I am going to a club to celebrate the life of a dear friend who died suddenly at the age of 40 two years ago to Leukemia in a matter of one week of his diagnosis.  This is the second annual fund-rasier to make some money in his honor to be sent to the leukemia society.  I will be with MANY of my crazy facebook friends and I am NOT driving - so looks like a whole 1/2 glass of wine for me - and I will be the LIFE of the party.....HA HA!

For those of you heading out this beautiful holiday weekend, enjoy and be careful - AND don't forget your sunscreen - that is my public service announcement.......(With any luck I MAY remember this advice for myself!)  Should be a jam-packed wonderful weekend.  And Trish - you are right - lets not forget why this weekend exists.  Thanks to all who have served our country and helped us get where we are today!

Happy Friday y'all! :)

Just a short note from my end today. We are loading the car right now to head to Vermont. We will meet our newest granddaughter Lilly this weekend! And hopefully get a little time out on the lake as a bonus.

I would have to assume that pants of some sort would be best, even though it's going to be warm.  Jeans or stretchy pants of some sort that will not get caught up on the horse.

Jeans, comfortable shirt, sturdy shoes non slip bottoms, and a hat or baseball cap to protect your head from the beating sun are what I've always worn when horseback riding.  I have very thin hair so I've always needed to protect my head from the sun.

Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Trish & PA!

Trish you do sound excited and I am happy for you, I know how much your munchkins mean to you and I hope the weekend is full of joyous moments that you can hold onto until you see them up close and personal again!

Today is the beginning of our summer hours program, which means the weeks we participate, we have to be in the office at 8 a.m., 1/2 hour for lunch and can leave at 3:30, of course, that is workload permitted, and today and next Friday I have the early departure, which is great, as (1) I live the furthest from the office and will have to transverse roads full of cars trying to get to their holiday weekend getaways and (2) tomorrow I have my 1st bbq in over 2 years and there is much to do to get ready.  Mostly food prep as we shopped and Diane (my roommate) has helped with the lawnwork and house stuff, as lately her job has cut her hours almost to none, so she is home and today she is going to make her yummy potato and macaroni salads, then tonight I will do the trim on the lawn, filet the chicken cutlets and put them in marianades and just kind of organize stuff so that tomorrow everything is ready for the friends that will be coming and Tony is supposed to be here too. . .

Then Sunday I have a friend from work coming up and we are going to the movies and will have either Japanese or leftovers from the bbq.  Monday is open and I am hoping to have a relaxing day.

Anyway, that's my weekend plans, right now I'd better get dressed and ready for the workday!

Have a great and safe weekend!

Hugs, Laureen
