Amazing Life
I was sitting here at my desk thinking back over my weekend and WOW what an amazing turn my life has taken the last 2 years. Who would ever think that having surgery to lose weight would bring me so many amazing friends to share this new life with......
Quick recap:
Friday dinner with Dennis along with Steffi and Larry then Kim Burke/Shawn joined us for drinks.
Saturday morning shopping with Susan then concert with Heather, Nicole, Kim then we ran into Linda Slavin/John.
Sunday morning breakfast with Arlene then shopping with Kimmie.
Everyone I spent time with was a result of taking a step to change my life for the better....This is something that is a added bonus your surgeon never tells you about.
Life is good!

I agree Beth. I have never felt so loved and cared for by so many people in my life. My circle has expanded and for the MOST part the people who have come into my life as a result of this surgery have been as big a blessing as the surgery itself. Include yourself in the group, you are a blessing to me and many others. I had a blast Sat night and I am always so happy when I get to spend time with my extended family. Even you KIM!!!
I was totally thinking the same thing this weekend - and it was because of our impromptu dinner on Friday night. I LOVED that I knew we could just up and show up and it would be a good time. I guess my other friends were right when they said I have "new" friends. The support and love that you all give to me has helped me tremendously - and although I have HUGE supports outside of WLS, you guys just get it. And unless you have traveled similar paths - there will always be a gap. Saturday with Larry's family I was totally pining for my weight loss community at Karen's house - texting and getting pictures from them. And then sitting on the edge of my seat yesterday waiting to hear about Liz giving birth - it is like Amelia is the baby of ALL of us! (one that I don't have to raise...even better!)
So - thanks to YOU for allowing me to be part of such a special group of people! And thank you for putting these feelings into words! :)

Oh - and I forgot to add my hysterical crying bit with Nicole on Thursday and TOTALLY fun and "informative" conversation wtih Sandra yesterday.....not to mention my never ending Algebra conversations with JoJo and my bantering/flirting with Lisa, Pam, Eric and Swede! the list gets bigger and bigger! :)
This journey has brought so much to all of us here, life is fuller and richer today and I can't wait to see you all soon. . . I've missed many of you from not being able to attend support groups, due to the fullness of life among other things ;)
