A beautiful baby girl. Fantabulous!!! Our ship is heading out to sea as I write this but I'm so happy we got the news before I list my signal. Congratulations Chris & Liz. Big hugs and happy thoughts coming your way! Now I think I'll go have a drink to celebrate baby amelia's entrance into the world.

Well, Amelia didn't arrive on schedule but she was sure worth waiting for! I was SO hoping Liz would deliver this morning around 8 so I could have seen her before leaving for Boston, but as we know that didn't happen. So I was VERY happy to get a text and pic on my phone on the road...
She is so pretty and in the other pic on FB where you can see Liz, they both look great! And she's another REDHEAD (yay!).
I'm so elated for them and can't wait to meet Amelia! She's a lucky girl to have two such amazing parents and a community full of such love surrounding her.

Spoke to Chris earlier this evening - he was going home for the night so he could get some sleep.
Dad is soooo happy, Amelia is just "wonderful" and "looks just like liz" as per him, but has his mouth I think he said.
Liz did well - although she did have a bit of a migraine tonight from lack of sleep and the excitement of everything and the very long day, obviously. He was going home to get some sleep of his own and to allow Liz to get some rest as well.
Liz had dialated VERY quickly - 4 to 10 cm in under two hours. The baby got "stuck" right before she was able to be born, and Liz had some difficulty with that. She had a very minor episiotomy done, and they used a little bit of suction to aid in the delivery and then things went smoothly from there!!!!
Everyone is doing well!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. 
I've got more scoop.. Siehara and I went to see them today and of course everyone is wonderful.
She was born at 11:21 am and is 8 lbs and 21 inches long. She is a perfect mixture of both Liz and Chris. Of course, I could not help but grab that baby and hold her. She is so precious.
