Ulcers?

ok I have been having severe pain in my right side and the doctor sent me for gallbladder testing, one was a ultrasound and the other was something like a cat scan...it came back and everything was normal, now she thinks it could be ulcers and has me on medication and scheduled for another test I think it's the same as when I have the stricture done...my question I just had that done 2 months ago..wouldnt they have seen the ulcers then or can I get them in a 2months period of time?  I am so confused...I wish my doctor would explain things better, she had a nurse call me and I just got home from working all day with a headache so I didnt get much info.  Any ideas?

Ulcers can pop up quickly. I had them about a year out and they hurt like heck. I ended up in the ER with mine. The meds - carafete - will help within a few days if it is ulcers. It is hard to swallow but works wonders. My guess would be that they are going to do an endoscopy with a biopsy to test for the ulcers, that's what I had done.

As for the Dr - unfortunately patients have to be their own advocate - ask LOTS of questions and if they don't explain it so you understand it tell them. Or come here and ask us :)

thanks Liz  I am going to call the nurse back and ask her to explain it better to me.  Would they show up on the ultrasound and cat scan I had?  

I can't wait for the post telling all of us that your new bundle of joy is here.    Congrats and hopefully by tonight or at least the weekend you'll be able to welcome the new addition to your family.  Kids are precious and so much fun!
