Terrific Tuesday Roll Call

You're getting there, Swede - I know sometimes it seems like it's never going to get here, but it will. I started my journey in June 2007 and didn't have my surgery til Feb 2008 because I had to go thru all that as well, but in the end I was glad I did - seemed more mentally prepared for most of the things that came my way. And I lost 50 lbs in the process - 33 doing my 3 month stint with the nut, working out, logging - and then 17 on the 10 day pre-op liquid diet my surgeon required. He was thrilled and so was I!

And yes, be your own advocate - sometimes things get lost in the shuffle on doctors desks and you want to make sure they have everything in order - my PCP helped me a lot with that.

You're going to do great!! You've got the right attitude and are following the things you need to. Won't be long before you're on the loser's bench with us!

Liz summed up the upper GI well....most times they end up giving you a drug called "Versed" which not only helps to put you into that twilight effect but also has a basic amnesic effect so that although you are semi awake (that twilight state Liz referred to) you won't remember much if anything at all.

Oh - and I started getting copies of ALL of my test results from WHEREVER I went as well as any doctor's appointments and what not so that I knew I had them and could fax them to the surgeon's office if needed

Thanks for the advice about getting copies of the records for myself, I will ask my PCP for copies of everyting at my next appointment.

Good Morning Lisa & PA friends ~

Today has me at work til 3:30. Busy day today. My boss is out ,I have a meeting scheduled for this morning and have a bunch of paperwork to take care of. Hopefully my full day will make it go by quickly.

After work, I'm going to vote and then head to the gym. As much as I wanted to drive by the gym last night, I squished that thought and got my butt in there and did some cardio.

As for me I am having a rough morning - I've had a headache for 4 days and I don't think it's sinus related. Work this morning has been chaos - things not getting done, other things getting over looked, high paid designers doing drawings with no colors or measurements - and all for me to come in and save the day - what are they going to do for the next 12 weeks when I am not here??? Hope they realize how much I actually do around here!

*sigh* anyway

Working until 12 then off to the OB at 1:20 - prayers and positive thoughts appreciated that this baby is going to come SOON!!! After that 2pm chiropractor appt, stopping to drop some cash off to Chris and home to make dinner and rest.

The doc COULD send you to the hospital from your appointment at any given moment.  I hope you are ready for that.  I know I sure am!!!   

You want to drop off some cash for me, too? I could use a few extra bucks... LOL

I've told them the last 2 times I'd gladly go straight to the hospital from the office! LOL Chris has my suitcase in his car so we are all ready!

LOL @ the cash - well it's only $20 for gas and ONLY because I get paid today and I don't want him coming home with out enough gas to get back to the hospital if need be - I told him we will NOT be stopping on the way... Oh and for some reason my paychecks don't get depositied until the next day now - have to love bank changes...

Good morning all - I am sitting here with a huge  on my face - today is my last day at work and then VACATION BEGINS!! This is the first vacation in a very long time that I feel totally relaxed about - I'm not fretting over what may or may not happen at home while I'm gone - I didn't have to deal with siblings fighting over who wasn't going to come stay with mom - and instead of feeling like I have to 'get away' it's nice knowing I can just 'go away'. Hope that makes sense.

So I'll be cleaning up things on my desk today so there isn't much for anybody to worry about - I am all packed except for the last minute toiletries. Hubby is working 1/2 day tomorrow so I'll clean up the SUV, load it up, then wait for him to come home so we can hit the road. The dog is even being groomed today for his big road trip - right now he's just very confused over all the suitcases and stuff going on!

So hope everyone has a great day even tho it's soggy outside - I'll be checking in from time to time via my iPhone until we leave for the cruise - then I'll be MIA for a few days - soaking up some sun and fun!!

For me? Crappy day! I am struggling with emotions, decisions, parenting, relationships AND a sinus infection! Honestly, I'd like to crawl back in bed. Oh and 3 extra pounds were on the scale!
