2 week out update

First let me say that I stayed in the hospital for two days due to a elevated temp. I was not in the standard ward due to the fact that I needed a heart monitor. So my nurses where less equipped to deal with a RNY patient. They did a good job but some things could have been better.

I travel a lot and I ended up gaining weight before my surgery instead of loosing weight.  I had my pre-surgery appointment 10 days before my surgery due to my traveling. That's when I found out that I was 332lbs instead of the 315 lbs that I was a few months back. I did not start my liquid diet till 5 days before surgery. I do not recommend this as I had no time to adjust so I cheated a little the first few days.

When I got out of the hospital i found that I could not drink most of the protein that I could before the surgery. Nectar made me sick just looking at it. So I stuck with soup and such till about 7 days out. Then I could drink protein everyday and I was able to eat well.

On my tenth day I ate Sash-mi. I know I was not suppose to but it is pure protein. No issues just a little heavy in my stomach. No real sickness so far with anything I have tried even Wendy's Chili.

332lbs April 20th As of today I am 299lbs

wow, I find it incredible you are tolerating chili just 2 weeks out . . .  think I was just soups and running purees . . .   good for you.  What a great start.  Keep up the good work.

Sounds like you're doing well, but be sure to follow the rules.  (You know, like the Sash-mi you mentioned?)  I wouldn't push anything this early out.   I was on liquids for 3 weeks following surgery, but I know every surgeon has a different protocol.

Great job on the weight loss!!!
