Hey ya'll--Just a quick question...I don't know if it is stress or what but I am having a serious breakout all over my chin and mouth area...horrible!!! I never break out ..maybe get one or two pimples near that time of the month but I have NEVER had a breakout like this it is just really freaking me out...I do think its because of stress but it is outta control now!!!...I was thinking of picking up the $19.95 kit of Proactiv...anyone have any experience with it or with adult breakouts??? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

Laura,

I had tried it a few years ago it did seem to help but over time it was drying as well so I would suggest making sure you have a good moisturizer with it.

Plus are bodies go through through cycles every 7 years so they say and I went through a spell in my 30's with bad break outs and no I seem to be pretty good again. Good luck!

Thanks Beth!! Good to know about the possible drying..but I will take a lil drying of my skin over this breakout right now! Thanks!!!

My daughter swears by it - she's 32 and has always suffered from terrible break-outs (I blame it on the sperm donor since I never had really bad skin). I actually saw a Proactive vending machine at a mall by me last month! Good luck...

LOL I know about the vending machine--I saw one at the Neshaminy mall...that is where I will probally go to get it this weekend...Thanks!!!

Laura - I never really broke out much when I was younger (usually during my female cycle), but as of lately I've been experiencing really bad breakouts on my cheeks. I use proactiv when my face breaks out and I've had no problems with it. It's very gentle on the skin.

Thank you!! I am thinking I am going to give a try...my usual Neutragena soap and water routine is not cutting right now!!! Thanks for the insight!!

I swear by Purpose!! Have used it my whole life. It's not drying at all and is much less expensive. Not sure how quick acting it is tho....Proactive didn't work on either of my teens....I kept telling them to use moms Purpose but nooooooo.....

I used it a few months ago...and it dried my skin out almost immediately. They suggest using it every other day or something like that if it is drying...and that didn't help me either. In all honesty, it destroyed my skin VERY quickly that took a long time to get it not to the point where it was literally flaking off of me every two minutes. Obviously...that could just be me, everyone has different reactions to skin care products.

Their MASK however, I still use once every 2 weeks or so. It doesn't seem to dry me out as much and helps control the breakouts.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
