OT - Update on Mom & Dad
Thanks again for the continued well wishes - Dad had endoscopy today, they were able to remove the "offending" gall stones from the bile duct (he still has some in his GB though) Cardio won't clear him for surgery to remove GB due to the risk (due to other health factors). He is still in pain and will be in there for another few days.
Taking care of mom has been a full time job - I love my mother dearly, but there is no one on this earth that can push my buttons the way my mommy can!! Going to work is easier, honestly.
Again, my hats off to healthcare professionals!!!
Oh - and, I have been clearing out their cabinets and freezer - both are on restricted salt diets and there are frozen dinners in the freezer that have 30+ % of DV of sodium!! Ugh.. no wonder my mom retains water... Dad's on board though, which is good. Now, if we can just get mom on the same page that salt & sugar are her enemies, just like sugar / carbs are mine!

As opposed to *just* going by % of DV on the nutritional labels...I'm gonna *assume* she is on a 2gm - 4gm sodium diet? If so...that's 2000mg - 4000mg a day....just to give mom an idea of what she's eating. Sometimes DV doesn't quite "sink in" with people. But if you tell them they are allowed 2000mg a day and a pre packaged soup has 900mg for example...it makes them think twice.
And as far as healthcare professionals are concerned...it's EXACTLY why I work in the ER. Very rarely do I have to take care of the same person for more than 6 hours, lol :)
Glad to hear they got the stones in the duct..I hope his pain improves and/or they can resolve the other issues to have the surgery to get the gallbladder out.
Hang tough, chicky. It's not easy!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup2.gif)
