Calling in for more prayers
Ok - the results are in - No heartattack (thank god and all of you for the prayers). Karen wins - It is gall bladder - Acute Pancreatitis (really not anything cute about it). No eating for a few days, staying in hospital - will need gall bladder removed. He was going to try to sleep when I left.. his biggest worry was that he didn't have his top dentures, so that is a good sign as to how he is feeling.
Am back at the house with my mom now, was able to steal away to see my dad while her physical therapist was here.
all I can say is.. Thank god my dad is so organized - we had his full med list and his medical history all typed up and printed and ready to hand over to the paramedics and the folks at the ER(and my moms too - so I was able to give her the meds she needed this morning).
We are heading out in a 1/2 hr to get my mom to her 2 week follow up since her release from rehab - looks like I will be here through the weekend (unless one of my brothers offers to stay - HA HA HA - I really am funny)
..... AND - can you believe their friggin association ticketed my car last night for being parked on the street becuase there is no on street parking.. ok, come on.. really - I do understand it being a hazard to park on the street in a nieghborhood where the blue hairs can barely see above the steering wheel, but **** - would you ticket the ambulance? what crap..
And Beth - I stopped at wawa - got muscle milk light for breakfast and am having a yogurt now - I always keep two days vitamins in my purse, so I am good on that front too.
I also have the best boss - her response, work will wait, your contract is still here - we just discussed extending you, so no work pressure (which is amazing as I am a contractor, not an employee)... have worked with her on and off for the past 4 years.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes! While I was waiting for updates this morning, reading the posts kept my attention so that my mind didn't wander in to a black hole of worry. Thank you for that!
XOXO
Maura
My mom and dad were both very organized when it came to their meds. I swear my mom had at least one list in every room of her house and in her car. Plus every bottle was marked with when, to the exact minute, it had to be taken. Plus, she kept track of her meds AS she took them writing it down in a little book... weird, but effective.
I have a little index card in my purse that lists what I take, including all my vitamins and I keep my pills counted out in a pill box for the week.
