It's been while since my last post here is catch up on what has be going on. they found out what is wrong with knee well PT found out what is wrong with it, it's the patella in my right it's going the wrong way or something like that causing all kind of issues  if PT can't losen it up then I will have to have it operated on. I hope it don't come down ot that but I can't keep living off of neproxen along wiht pain pills knee brace when I WOR**** pack and heating pad. I have also been give 3 cortzone shots which didn't help and steriods that didn't help all they made me do was eat

Next issues I found out why I have been gaining weight I'm sleep eating I have found out why in the therpy sessions wiht Dr. Lee we are starting to get into issues that I don't want to talk about but I need to in order to help myself and it's not all the time that I sleep eat I have not done that for 2 nights now it goes off and on it's not always an every night thing. I have read up on this it's interesting it's not my Lexpro causing it, I also found out my Lexpro can cause weight gain as well.

I can't work out like I use to thanks to my knee I'm going ot start some upper body work outs and walk as far as I can when I'm not working as well maybe soem light work outs to help me take some of the weight off

Now for some other news I'm going to paint the paneling in my bed room I hate paneling today I started to caulk the lines once I get all of that done I can start to pain it. I know some kind of project will help me along as well plus when I'm off even thought I'm still in pain I need to get out of the house and do things. I'm still wanted to start weeked walking group.

Don't put off knee surgery until you have to have it replaced, like I did. I was having trouble with mine for a long time but kept putting it off - when I finally went to see a specialist they started with pain killers, cordizone shots, orthoscopic surgery and finally knee replacement - the sad thing was I waited so long on the 'bad' knee that by the time I had that one done the other one was shot as well.

So if you're not happy with what your doctor is telling you - find another one. The first surgeon I went to looked at me (I was 40 and already in the 300's) and said 'If you were younger I'd fix it - if you were older I'd replace it - go home and lose weight and you'll be fine'. HUH? Seriously, that is exactly what he said to me. So I went home, tried to lose weight - of course not being able to walk much or do anything else for that matter because of the intense pain I was in I sat around and got bored and guess what I did? I ate - and I gained more weight. Finally after 6 months of misery I told my family doctor to send me to someone else, and he did, and the first thing the second surgeon said was 'What took you so long to get here?' and 'We can fix this'.

So please don't play around with a knee problem - it will only lead to worse things down the road, including your incapacity to exercise and keep your weight off.

Wishing you all the best...Kathy
