Bras that fit!
I did it!
I am in DC this week, and had time after my work commitments today to do some shopping.
Well, let me restate that. I accidentally left half of my work clothes at home.
So I HAD to do some shopping. I ended up at Pentagon City Mall which has Nordstroms as one of the anchor stores. Didn't find the work clothes there, but I DID venture into the lingerie....and I got fitted for new bras!
I have NEVER done this before. But I am now the proud owner of 3 new bras. They FIT. No spillover. Smooth across the back. Straps adjusted just right. Totally comfortable! The fitter took one look at me and went off to hunt down just the kind of support I needed...and she was RIGHT! (Never had anyone "help" me into a bra, either!) I ended up with 2 Wacoal bras and 1 Natori.
And then....I tried on a beautiful pair of pj's. (Did you know you can try on pj's?) They are the most beautiful things I have ever bought for myself....never really did the lingerie thing when I got married (either time), so this is a total breakthrough item. I told Mike they were my Mother's Day present. They will probably last forever, the fabric is so nice...and in size S no less! (Hey, maybe I could wear them to Barix one Saturday!)
Yeah, it was more than I would typically spend, but it is almost a "once in a lifetime" type expenditure. When literally NOTHING fits any more....when we have to realize that 100% of our clothing has to change....well, some things we can spread out, but sometimes we just have to do it.
PS. I found a spring sweater set to get me through tomorrow...then may need one more item for Wednesday. There is some overlap in the people attending these meetings so I can't wear the same exact thing twice in a row.

Oooooh sounds sooooo nice! It took me awhile to actually get fitted for a bra...but by far one of the best decisions I've ever done and will continue to do so :)
And the pjs...I say one Saturday we make it a pajama party, lol :)

Congrats on all the new clothes - I just went thru the whole bra thing - I ended up getting some at Lane Bryant that I love - they fit, they cover, they support. I have a friend at work who is tiny in the body but extremely well-endowed and she always buys her bras at Nordstroms and loves them.
Aren't PJ's fun now? I keep buying them too!! I always wore gigantic men's t-shirts to sleep in - now I cute jammies!!

Those are the ones I got too and love them! I got two lined and two unlined (for more casual wear) - I'm very pleased with both - I love the Cacique stretch panties as well with the wider bands - they wear like iron!
It's funny but I used to hate shopping in LB because it was the ONLY place I could shop - now that I can shop just about anywhere I enjoy going into LB because I can sometimes wear a 14/16 in there - woo-hoo!! But their clothes are so cute now and I can always find stuff on the clearance racks. Have to love that.

The ones I like are a brief but they do have them in more a bikini style - but because of my loose skin the brief gives me a little support - I don't hang out over them (never a good look!!). I treated myself to some new ones because while the ones I had still look good I could tell they had lost some of their fit because they started riding up under my slacks and stuff (how do girls wear thongs?? OMG its so uncomfortable!!). I the ones I buy are 5 pair for $29 and they have them in all these great colors and patterns, so even tho they're a brief they're a cute brief.
