Does anyone have a food diary they could share with me... I'm trying to decide how detailed I should be...

What works for you? What keeps you honest?

I've used sparkpeople on my iphone.

On the daily menu thread Nan posts a link to her "food diary" so you can A) see her set up and B) what she eats as a starting point for that kind of stuff :)

Basics though...for me it was always what I ate, when I ate it (time), serving size, gms of protein, gms of fat  Sometimes I counted carbs other times I didn't...I was fairly inconsistent with that, along with calories.  However, once I started using sparkpeople on my phone...it calculated the calories/carbs for me so that was a bit easier
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I agree with Pam - Check out Nan's post on the "Sticking to the Basics" thread each day  - she is very detailed, the self proclaimed food Nazi lol and she has been amazing with her successing. Her user name is "Happy to be in Onederland" or something very close to that.

When I log (which I don't do formally just on the daily thread) I use fitday.com. I know Karen uses sparkpeople.com it's all personal preference.

PS - what keeps me honest? These great people around me truthfully! I know that I can admit to Pam that I had a slice of pizza here and there, but if I tell her I had 2 in a sitting she would bop me on the head and remind me that's not a good thing - just 'cause she cares. Oh and a whole host of other people I just know I can throw Pam out there lol

I love sparkpeople.com!  It helps keep me honest and gives me tools to help me succeed like a recipe calculator.

I use the calorie King Food & Exercise journal.  I put the book in my lunchbag and take it to work with me.  I love it.  I got it at Barnes&Nobel...~3-4 bucks for a 10 week journal.
