Asking for help...

Hi Kimi - welcome to the group ! I'm an RNY'er, but wanted to highly recommend the Barix 1st Saturday support group. It is open to anyone regardless of where you had your surgery and it is really, really awesome !

Thanks Lisa....well that's 3 votes...I'm going to have to check it out!!! I don't mind driving at all....can you or someone give me all the specifics on when, where, and I believe the time is 12-4. Is there a cost to attend?

The Barix Saturday meetings are free and open to anyone who has had surgery or is thinking of having surgery.  The Saturday meetings are the first Saturday of each month.  I did NOT have surgery there, but try my hardest to get there whenever possible.  As you can tell from the responses here, it is an awesome group.  Richie M came with me once.  He can tell you about it, too.  

I know there is also a weekday meeting on Wednesdays for Post-ops. I think it's the 2nd Wednesday, but others here can tell you better than I.

The Post -O p Meeting is the Third wednesday of the mOnth at 7 pm ftill about 9 pm and the Pre-Op meeting is the second Tuesday of the month same time 7pm.

Beth and her boyfriend Dennis are 2 of the support group leaders, as are quite a few of the wonderful people on this board.

What a wealth of information and support you will find both here and at Barix. 

Oh wow that's so awesome!!! I can't wait to meet them!!! I'm feeling at home already here on this board and I've printed so many recipes from the Barix site....this is great and just the jump start I need!!!

Kimi , I do attend the Saturday meetings because i am one fo the support group leaders on that day. Along with a wonderful group of fellow leaders.

That is so awesome...I'm sooo looking forward to it! Wish I could come this Sat....I'll be there with bells on for the June mtg!!

You got the info for Saturday above, the Post op is the 3rd Wednesday (same location - starts at 7) - we just had one last week, but have the 1st Saturday coming up this weekend. 

I'm not a bander either, but can tell you that the support group leaders at Barix are great (and I'm not just saying that because they read these threads!).

The class that Liz does is awesome too..
