Asking for help...

There are three monthly meetings at Barix.

First Saturday of the month:  That is the large one Beth is talking about.  It's always the first saturday of the month, always 12-4

Second TUESDAY of the month, 7-9ish  Pre op meeting.  Topics are focused on pre op questions, support, etc  Post ops do go to the meeting, for extra support for pre ops and for extra support for themselves, but we have to remember to keep it pre op focused

Third WEDNESDAY of the month, 7-9ish Post op meeting  Again, some pre ops attend, but they make it clear that it is post op focused and some topics may be "scary" to pre ops (strictures, weight gain, etc etc)

Welcome to the boards!  I'm close to you as well - I live in forks twp of easton :)

Hi Kim - I think all the advice you have been given above is great!  The PA board is a wonderful place to give and get information.  I am a band patient and have banded for 4 years.  My basic advice is to go back to solid protein and pass on all slider foods, exercise, and get your fluids in.  Nothing different from anyone else.  Have you had a fill recently?  That might be the kick you need to get back on the wagon.  Hope this helps.

Thanks bethmal.....

That's where I'm headed...back to basics!!! As far as a fill, no I don't need one...I just had one in February and anymore and I'd be too tight. I feel this is all me!!

What do you normally eat in one day? Do you measure/weigh your food? Do you have a daily exercise program you follow? Exercise and me are not best buds...LOL

You can check out what I eat on thedailyplate.com  - i am bethmal there too.  I try to eat relatively healthy but there are days I cave to chocolate or ice cream.  I have been strugling to learn moderation for the past year.

I run.  That is my exercise and I love it.  I run Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and cross train on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  My complete rest day is Sunday.

Let me second the motion - YES! If you can get to the Barix "first Saturday" at noon, it is well worth the time. Several of us drive some distance to get there, and there is always a small group session for banders....a large group session follows.

Thanks is there a website or can you give me the address of the location?

The website is:

www.barixclinics.com

They have several locations in various states, but "we" go to the location at 280 Middletown Blvd., Langhorne, PA. It's just a stone's throw off the PA turnpike at exit 351. (Well, OK, not a stone's throw, but just a few minutes north!)

The Saturday meeting is from 12-4.

12-2 p.m. are small group sessions, then a break from 2 - 2:30 during which the nutritionist office is open if you need to purchase any products (protein, etc.). A large group session, usually on a specified topic, follows from 2:30 - 4. The meeting is open to all regardless of where you had your surgery, when, or what type of surgery.

Thanks so much lynnc99....I've got it on my calendar for June!!! Can't wait!!!

I go to two other support groups in NJ and my drive to each is at least an hour...that doesn't bother me...I need to be around people like me!!!
