Asking for help...

I live on the NJ/Pa border  and have some friends on the Pa forum...hoping you guys can help me too!

I'm trying to get back on track. I was banded May 2009, have lost a total of 49ish lbs and 27 inches. Not great in my book but that's another story.

Do you weigh or measure your meals? If so, how much protein to you eat at a meal or do you go by 1 cup of veggies or 1/2 meat? Do you count calories? I know my Doctor has all this information and has provided it to me...I'm just wondering what those of you who are living with the band are doing and how you've succeeded.

I will say I normally have a salad at lunch, I don't weigh it or measure it, I think I'm eating too much....so if you were to have a salad do you measure out every ingredient that is in the salad or just the salad as a whole?

I've been in a funk for about 5 months, looking back its wasted time on my part but that's life...time to stop dwelling and move on. Yes, I'm feeling lost and alone, altho I have a great support team. Doesn't make sense I know.

Unfortuneately the doc forgot to put the band around my head as well as my stomach.

Thanks in advance for all your help.....

We are practically neighbors!! I live about 3 miles north of Reiglesville! I had RNY not the band but we've all been where you are.

I count my intake by weights / measures. well I did - now that I am 3 1/2 years out I eye ball it - not the best idea for everyone but it works for me.

It all depends on what I eat, how much I can eat. I can eat 2 cups of salad but sometimes I can't even get down 2oz of meat and 2 oz of veggies.

We'd love to have you up sometime - I usually teach a cooking class once a month but am taking a "maternity break" until after the baby comes - keep your eye out - should be posting a June date!

Oh and if you have any questions I'm always around:)

Liz

PS - I grew up in Milford - up on the hill - Fairview Ave.

Oh my goodness...again what a small world!!!! I know all of those Salons....I owned Kountry Kutts in Frenchtown in the early 90's. I worked for Hair Magic in Milford and Hairborne in Frenchtown. I worked in Flemington and Clinton after I graduated but can't remember the name of the salon for the life of me...LOL
