OT - so UNBELIEVABLY bored!!!!! Please play
MATH will get better.. she's pretty good at math when she takes her time. She got most of the proportion ones correct. I found one or two that were wrong and as soon as I read them out loud to her, she knew her mistake. It's all a matter of taking the time to focus. OYE. .. tell that to the mother of an ADHD child who thinks she also has it..
I am sorry that I cannot help you with this today. I am having difficulty keeping my head off of my desk... so tired. I am doing a lot of SOA teaching today too... (sitting on a$$.) Good thing I have a great class.

Bored! Huh??? But you're a MATH person!!!!
Just....do some problems or something!!!!
Rewards? I used to do funny little prize drawings the day of tests....maybe you can improvise on that theme. Prizes were packs of Smarties (get it? make you smart the day of the test!), mini 100 grand bars, cool pens (gel pens or glittery ones, that type thing), whatever I could collect. Of course the REAL prize was a bonus chip for a certain number of extra points on the next vocab quiz (I did English back in the day), or a homework pass.
Or - totally in violation of the PA wellness movement in schools I know - just bring in bagels one day.
Or - again, not in line with the PA wellness movement - have the kids do demonstrations of various ways to eat oreos (with and without milk), and then they all get a few to munch on while you teach. Just takes a minute. I have done this one with Sunday School classes.
