Short update on me : )

So, I have PT on Monday and Thursday afternoons.  I have been doing this since my injury in December.  First month of PT wasn't that great so I switched places.  This PT is awesome!!!  Totally hands on and so encouraging.

I am now allowed to walk 4 minutes and run 6 minutes for up to 30(ish) minutes at a time.  So as I was at PT tonight I thought... wow, 4 years ago I was totally FAT and wouldn't dream of getting off the sofa.  Now I have been at PT for 4 months with a running injury - seems surreal to me.  I did run a full mile (against PT orders) to find out my mile time - not too far off from when I got hurt.

I'll take it.  I am stubborn but I sure have learned a lot during the last four months.  My PT said she wants me running 100% in the next four weeks... finally!

Beth,
What an amazing person you are! I really read your posts and despite all your injuries you keep on trucking I envy you being able to run. I wish I was a runner tried it a few times and you know some people are not runners I am not one but I am so glad to hear you are on your road to recovery. AND I agree this WLS is amazing and our bodies are amazing what we can do when we push ourselves. Be kind to yourself and take care of your injuries before pushing yourself. Those PT people might just know what you they are talking about. lol

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

You are so right... I can run but I can't take the ellpitcal for more than 30 minutes and that is pushing it.  You are the Elliptical Queen!  I will listen to my PT.  I am so close I can almost taste it!

Ha, ha, ha Pam!  Yes and no - I do everything she tells me to do every night and I even take rest days now (something I never use to do) but once I just needed to find my mile time.  Its wasn't too bad not much different than when I go hurt... 4 more weeks of PT and then I am out!  I admit that I am a little stubborn and that can be a good thing right?

Beth you are an inspiration to all of us who are still thinking that running would be the closest thing to torture. You show that so much can change for us after this surgery if we are open to it.
I am proud of your ability to stick with it and I am happy that the injuries are healing

Torture??  Seriously???  Torture to me is the elliptical - running is so easy!  Just put one foot in front of the other and go faster than a walk - your lungs will burn for the first mile, your shins will feel like they are going to combust, your head will tell you 'you can't' but you can.  It's the perfect therapist for me Nicole!  Maybe I am just mental... ha, ha, ha!

Beth, I know you are happy that you are building up your running.

I think I have come to the conclusion that running is really not for me.  I just don't enjoy it.  Though, maybe if I had someone to do it with, that might help.  Some people like the seclusion, I don't.

Keep up the great work and do what your PT tells you to do.

You'll be prepping for that Princess race soon enough!
