OT - I almost forgot!
So on Friday I mentioned I needed to make a phone call....which ended up being two phone calls. I wanted to update on that - but then I was computer less for a few days.
The phone call was in regards to possible per diem employment at Sacred Heart Hospital. I'm kind of getting in a "back door" if you will. I have a good friend at LVH who works there. She told me to look into it online. The only way to apply online, though, is to actually apply for a job that is actually listed. No per diem ER positions were listed. My friend was pretty convinced they were hiring despite that...so she talked to the manager of the ER for me. He immediately asked me to fwd him my resume etc.
The phone call was to follow up with HR whom he had passed my info too. I ultimately got in touch with her and she has set me up for a double interview on Wednesday. The first one will be with her, in HR and then the second one directly after will be with the director of the ER whom my friend spoke to him for me, Mike.
I don't see myself as a "strong" interviewer, but am definately less nervous than I was when I went on the one for LVH 18 mos ago.
So.....wish me luck. I'm not "bored" at home but with Brian going to school I'm definately concerned about finances and this will help. And for the first time in a decade or so...the nursing "shortage" is just the opposite - and getting a job is not as "easy" as it once was. I had filled out BUNCHES of applications to various places in the area and have heard nothing back, so this is a big deal.

Sacred Heart IMHO has some of the most caring employees I`ve ever met. Kind of funny when in the AM it all stops for the prayer over the Pa system.
I have a friend that is full time St Lukes Allentown campus but does per diem at Easton and is called a lot. Did you try Easton?

Yes, I've applied to Easton. Right now haven't heard anything. But in all honesty, Easton has a TERRIBLE reputation as far as what the workers say about it. And I'm a little concerned that I will end up in a situation that I left in the small community hospital in Jersey - lack of equipment, lack of dedicated staff, lack of continunity. Also, Easton is "known" among nurses to have their ER staffed by lots of perdiems and/or traveling/agency nurses, which leads to the lack of continuity problem. Departments don't work well when "everyone" is "new" or not their consistently. That being said, if I get called, I would at least go on an interview to check it out for myself, considering it's literally about 10 mins from me.

Awww thanks guys! The support is awesome, as always.
Karen, thanks for the offer :) I may end up emailing you pics of outfits to wear, lol, as I never have to dress business like and really don't have much or know how to put together outfits. I'm GREAT at putting together "formal" outfits and casual outfits, it's that inbetween I don't do so well. My "personal stylist" (brian) is already on call for closet ripping and possible kohls shopping lol My resume was pretty much up to date save for my responsibilities at LVH so I just added that in.
And you guys probably won't have to wait till Thursday to hear all about it....I'll probably be rambling about it on Wed when I get home :)
