Last night I ate some chicken & grilled veggies (both of which I have had since surgery - many times  - I felt like I had a knife in my puch for about 2 hours after - I didn't bring anything back up - or get the foamies that I have heard so much about - it subsided - Is that what it feels like if you don't chew well enough?  I have to say I did eat a little fast... It is the first time it has happened, so I am not quite sure what "stuck" feels like.. I definitely didn't overeat - It was only~ 2 oz of Chix and a few pieces of veggies..

Yep, a knot in the middle of your chest is "stuck";  I'm not sure about the "knife in the pouch".  You might not have chewed well enough.

It's really a good lesson, isn't it?  It's amazing what we'll learn NOT to do when we get one of those little reminders!

Good luck.

Pure misery plain and simple. And yes food can get stuck without you getting the foamies or sick. When it happens to me I have to lay down and pray for sleep in hopes that it will pass. I'm 2 plus years out and while it hasn't happened in a while I still have to be very careful. Hope you're feeling better. Take care and watch out for dry foods too.

I have been blessed that I haven't had any episodes or pain or anything so I couldn't identify the pain.  I went to bed early and found a position to lay that subsided the pain and woke up fine.  Thanks for the tips!

I remember that someone once mentioned papaya enzyme in warm water would help to make the pain go away.  I've never tried it.  For me, letting the lump come back up is the quickest way to get rid of the pain.

Glad you're feeling better.

 Hi,

That happened to me twice.  Ended up I didn't chew well enough the first time and drank too quick the 2nd time.

Trust me, that never happened again....lol

Good luck.

It feels like hell.

Eating too fast and not chewing properly will do it.

I am many yearsout and still do it occasionally.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
